Love how the whole thing is designed so people can easily make their own compatible profile pieces.

Great! I was always a bit confused with the great number of little pieces. Keep going with that series please.

probably the most needed series to your products atm, I got me the shapeshifter right from the start, but since then never even played with it yet out of fear of not knowing how to use it... this was very helpful. I sure as well need to find the time for a learning curve in the usage, but it´s making a bit more sense to me now!! looking forward to more vids about this piece!!!

fantastic video! the shapeshifter is indeed a complex tool and many pieces aren't necessarily intuitive in their use. the fact that you can make your own template is absolutely RAD, I can make all the weird spires now lol please keep going with this series!

The most immediate problem I have found with this tool is getting styrofoam that is thick enough. In Canada we can get sheet up to 50mm/2" easily bit any thicker than that you have to start gluing sheets together to make blocks. I have found some success practicing with bead board which you can get in bigger pieces but it is not as robust. Our foam is also less dense meaning it's harder to ensure the block stays stable on the disk. I am going to try method used by woodworkers: You apply a layer of blue paint's tape to both the material and the work surface, then stick the two painter's tape layer together with super glue making a sandwich: work surface/tape/glue/tape/foam. The wide surface area of the tape makes for a strong glue bond, but the tape itself easily peels off the foam. Another option I have thought about would be the equivalent of a lathe tailstock to support the far end of the material. It would reduce the available working area.

i cant make the steps with this to save my life. I ended up drilling some holes in the 'steps' template and just pinned it to foam and traced with the hotwire
