We heard the need in 2020 from the SHE RECOVERS® community, that all women need a welcoming and supportive space to share their stories and experiences with like-hearted individuals.
With the help of trusted advisors and volunteers like Shari, we created an identity-based group for Black, Indigenous and women of color. Together we also hosted a critical conversation on ‘Healing the Effects of Racism for Black Women in Recovery’ led and presented by black women. Inclusive, collaborative dialogues focused on topics crucial to women’s healing are necessary if we want to continue
moving forward in recovery-TOGETHER.
The stigma issues surrounding women of color who have mental health issues and/or substance use disorders are staggering.
Stigma often prevents people from accessing the help they so deeply deserve. For this reason, it is vital to provide individualized support and dedicated spaces for women of color.
Spaces where they feel connected, supported and empowered by like-hearted women.
This holiday season, give the gift of recovery by donating to SHE RECOVERS Foundation. Your gift will continue to help us grow our identity-based groups and reach more women of color who are in or seeking recovery!
