I’m 68 years old. Mom always made us kids sit down at Christmas and other family gatherings to take pictures She would have to fight us to come and take the pictures. Now that mom is gone I understand why we had to take the pictures. She gave me a lot of pictures from the mid 1800s of our family without writing on the back. Before she passed she went over the pictures with me. Please write on the back of the pictures so the next generation will never loose their families history

Matt did a great job on those photo holders. You should record those family stories, not for us, but for your family and give them a copy so they can always remember the stories from each picture. That would be a cherished gift for your family and shouldn’t cost to much to copy the video or share it by email for each family or maybe just or write down the stories. I enjoyed the pictures. As a girl who came from a large family, think 35 cousins on just my mama's side, looking at old photos always makes me smile. Time passes so quickly and we lose so many loved ones and so many changes. Love the photo holders. Came out beautiful and you could always save for someones wedding or an event.

Brought tears to my eyes. What precious memories. We always gathered at my grandparents, all my grandparents are gone now. The old saying “a picture is worth a 1000 words” glad you have them to spark those memories. I read something the other day that said “this year instead of worrying about what’s under the tree, just be grateful for those around it”. I hope y’all have a great thanksgiving.

How wonderful to have a close family like this. Such great memories for all of you and it will continue for the next generation. Remember to label the pictures so that years from now they will know who each person was. My grandfather was good about that and now we can go back through and know where each person fit in. I was born to much older parents, So ive got family pictures my Grandmother had back into the 1800s a few are tin types, Old photos are such a treasure.

That is awesome idea. You can put two pictures back to back and double the number of pictures displayed-just turn it around. 😊 you may be doing that already. Looking through pictures is such a bittersweet moment.

Homemade frames for picture presentations are the best! Very creative, Matt! All the Pressleys are artistically talented!

The old family photos were so fun to see!! They brought back my childhood memories. We have a picture of my Mama washing my brother in the kitchen sink. He’s now 73 years old. Seeing the paneled walls, crocheted and macramed crafts, and clutter of treasured items in Granny and Pap's home brought a lump to my throat. I have been too much around other-directed people, intent on impressing others. What a beautiful legacy your whole family has been given. It comes through in your presentations.

We shared pictures too, used to bring our pictures albums when we got together. Myy mom also went through hers before she passed. And gave pictures to family.

It's going to be different without Miss Cindy and of course Pap, but now is the best time to remember those we cherish who have gone on home before us. This is a wonderful idea to display old photos! Matt did a great job of explaining how easy it would be to create photo holders out of stuff right around your house without having to buy them. I love that idea and hope to do that as a winter project with my husband. It was wonderful to see the ones from years ago and brought back memories of days gone by for me, too. What a special way to remember family members no longer with us and share with the newest members. Happy Thanksgiving!

I remember looking at old pictures being the highlight of family gatherings. Pulling out old photo albums and yearbooks was such a treat and entertaining. The stories that went with each picture were priceless. Thank you for reminding me of this. Somehow we've gotten away from this, but I intend to revive this sweet tradition. Matt, your picture holders are brilliant.

That was sweet. So many of the old photos look just like some of mine from when I was a little girl. The clothes, the colors, the decor. Such a simpler time where family was the entertainment.

What a great idea. We always would get pictures out at my mother and dad’s on Sundays. If aunts and uncles were there, they always had such stories to tell. Now so many are gone and I’ve inherited a lot of those pictures. I love to look at them but they always bring the tears. Blessings to your family!

My grandma has books and books of photos. Lots of which are geneology records and information. I love going through them when I am there. The simplest, easiest ideas are often the neatest and the best. I have seen that idea done for graduations and weddings too. Very clever. One variation on that that I really wanted to do was to have real Christmas tree every year and then cut a crosscut of the trunk that year and put a family picture from that year on it. Over the years you would have a piece of all your trees and a rexord of the family at Christmas. BUT, we never got a real tree. (Husbands house burned down as a child bcuz of a dry tree so I understand.)😢 I always had that 80's hair too. I had to always get perms though as my hair was straight as a board otherwise. Great idea for stories and conversation. ❤❤

It was so nice to see all of your family....so often you talk about them and now we have many faces. It is nice to see old photos of you too when you were a teen. I have many family photos that no one wants and I cannot bring myself to throw them out just yet...maybe someday someone will take an interest in them.

January 1988 when we had such a snowy winter. We live in Salem. SC, and my Daddy measured the front yard 24 inches of snow. Live in the mountains of Oconee county.

I'm with you on the snowfalls Tipper! I'm older than you and Matt, but in March of '63 , it snowed every Wed for 3 weeks in a row in NC. I was about 6 and loved every minute of it!

Tipper, what an absolutely wonderful idea. My favorite video's of yours are the ones that contain old photos. Your family will love, love to be able to bring home such a special gift. In my family I've been relegated to care for the old photos. My Gram left them to me from the early 1920's on up. I've given them to extended family members and they are elated. Now as you I make books for the "kids" who now have kids! Thank you for sharing. Hope you don't mind if I steal your idea! You're so creative.

Tipper, Oh my goodness Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful family pictures what a beautiful blessing you have in them. As you was saying scan all of them you set out so you still have them. The old ones of your mom and dad was so heartwarming. I always wondered what your granny Gazzie looked like i don't know how to spell her name hopefully you will know who im talking about. Hearing about the snow you had and the sweet pictures of katie and Corie. You as a baby and the family pictures at Christmas that's exactly how my in laws did their family Christmas pictures standing up in living room by Christmas tree. Memories are so precious seeing beautiful miss cindy was so lovely. Seeing Matt Go out and get the wood to do the things to show off the pictures they looked wonderful. What a talented husband you have. It shows the love he has for you. I wish all husband's was like that you both are so blessed . oh my what an incredible Thanksgiving day ya'll gonna have with those awesome photos and WOW Matt sure outdid himself on those holders!! They are way better than anything laid out on a table under glass!! I especially love the ones from ya'lls youngster days Tipper. My goodness the peddle car, the silver tree, and so many things in those old photos that bring back warm memories of my childhood, the warm morning stove an oh yes I would love to have a stove like granny's old one. THanks so much for sharing those family photos with us. Prayers continued for Granny . I bet she is really gonna love the photos and how you have chosen to present them. I want to watch this again, had to keep pausing and running back and forth to the kitchen with some Thanksgiving pies and pumpkin roll in the making....LOL

Tipper I have so many picture I have to keep them in a huge plastic container that's about 2 foot tall and 2 foot wide. That is such a good idea about giving them the pictures they want. My parents didn't take many pictures of my sister and I but we have a lot of my brother who is older. He was the first baby born in Mom's family so he was doted on quite a bit by Granny and Papa and Mom's 2 sisters. Also, my dad was deployed to Okinawa, Japan when my brother was a baby so Mom took lots of pictures to send to him. He was stationed in Altus, Oklahoma when I was born so I imagine since we all lived on base they didn't figure they needed pictures. I'm going to give my sons the pictures this year. I love how creative you and Matt are!
