Yuvi was the best batsman in odi and main batsman 2005-2011. Dhoni was finisher but without yuvi india couldn't perform well between 2005-11. Gambhir was also an architect between 2008-11. Sachin sehwag were just to give starts. In all Yuvi replacement still hasn't been found which was seen in 2019 semis as well. Dravid was architect for indian batting in 1999 and 2003 world Cup with sachin saurav being main batsmen

Sachin has given strong foundations in many matches where he didn't get to half centuries also. Sachin's contribution to team India is second to none, not only from bat, but ball when needed and most importantly guiding the captains and others too with his advice, this is what many of his peers and people played afterwards reveal too. Sachin, and India team was unfortunate that in his super prime, he did not have any backup from anyone in any form. He only had that after that decade. We always lacked solid bowling attack too. I agree with Yuvi changing course of team India after Sachin. He brought in the much needed all rounder game, that team India was lacking at that time.

Shashwat Das i know we Indians immediately make this conclusion about our earlier teams. But there is something called as temperament in cricket which can make or break any player. At those times too India had many talented players but their temperament stopped them from becoming great. Sachin was a really exceptional player who thought he could bring down any target. He may not have succeeded all the time but he showed the way for future generations. And i think kohli must have definitely watched this match and learnt so much. He himself says he visualizes chases a lot. So it is more about the mental capabilities too which at these times India was missing.
