I still have my Midnight Special some where or at least the shell from Christmas 1978. And I didn’t know Tyco went back as far as the 50s.

Nice collection of TYCO Sharks👍 Does your 1950’s version use the trusty MU2? Or another kind of drive. Thanks for showing your TYCO Sharks through the decades 🚂

Thanks! The 1950's diecast Sharks did use a kind of MU2 motor (or can motor as some call them,) but the diecast shells were often too much for such motors. Some run well better than others.

Question. The Pennsylvania actually operated most of the sharks built. Did Tyco ever make a version for the PRR. Great collection of my favorite diesel locomotive. Thanks for sharing.

The Sharknose is my favorite diesel locomotive also! Yes, the PRR certainly rostered the largest amount of RF16s, as well as RF15s and the six-axle "BP20" Sharks. Tyco made a Tuscan Red diecast Sharknose locomotive in the late 1950s.

Do you know of anyone else with the Tyco streamliner sharknose that might be willing to part with theirs? I'm trying to build a layout like great grandfather's I grew up on

I don't know anyone willing to part with their Tyco diecast streamliner Shark....as they are hard to find to begin with. They do pop up on EBay every once in a while, and sometimes at train shows. Good luck on finding one.
