I agree that Shark is very good. I have the Shark Duo Pro cordless vac and the Stratos Duo and the Shark self emptying robot XL. I can say it does its job and is far superior over expensive Dyson. Is it the best robot vacuum vs the Roborock? Nope. But in terms of pricing and quality, Shark Robot wins. They are the best in picking up hair. Best in HEPA filter. And best in picking every dust and debris. However, here are the cons: 1. They do copy their competitors because they were not the first to come out with LIDAR technology. 2. Until they come out with LIDAR, Shark finally improved their mapping system. They were 2 years behind technology vs Roomba and Roborock. 3. Cleaning their inside robot is not fun. You still have to use a dust cloth and then use Clorox wipes or Lysol wipes to fully clean it. It’s hard to clean inside the robot too when you take out filter. 4. Cleaning out the self emptying bin is not fun either. Depending how dirty your floor is and how many times you make your robot clean, you have to take out the spongy filter, rinse through water and wait until dry and clean inside where the foam filter is. So yes, you still gotta clean to keep your robot and self empty bin last longer. Maintenance. Shark cordless vacs and robot never makes it easier to clean the inside. 5. Although the Shark tries to stay competitive and lowers their price for robots, in the end, you’re paying the price. Why? Replacement parts aren’t cheap and Shark over price their filters and parts. Best to go on Amazon and get 3rd party parts as they’re half the price if not 70% lower than what Shark charges! 6. The battery replacement. Although Shark constantly crank out cordless and their robot vaccums, they never sell the lithium battery replacement right away. For example, when I bought their first cordless Duo Pro vac and Stratos which only gives you up to 60 minutes of runtime, it took them 2 years to finally release a replacement battery. I wasn’t too thrilled with that as they should’ve improved the runtime of their lithium batteries. They improved their shark robot runtime from 60 to 95-120 minutes but won’t focus on improving their runtime for their cordless.

It will be interesting to see whether Shark gets into trouble with iRobot because they have a patent on dirt detection.

How big of a threshold can it go over? I have a 1 to 1.5" drop between my kitchen and living room.
