Solo Shark Fishing - UK Sea Fishing for Blue Sharks. Travelling offshore in my Warrior 170 I show you how to target, safely handle and return Blue Sharks. The tackle I use and also experiment with using a Rubber Duck to catch sharks - because why not. Life is fun. Plus some amazing encounters with Dolphins.

I’ve fished at international level, I’ve fished all around the world, I’ve caught many amazing fish but I’ve never seen anything as genius as a rubber ducky shark float. I love it :D

Regardless of our negative impact it’s Incredible to see the sheer volume of predators pointing to healthy marine ecosystems beneath them , for the very least in that area . @@TheFishLocker- John, speaking of triggering, at 03:25 when you recovered that mylar balloon from the water for later disposal, it brought home why I like using latex balloons. They are natural and break down without harming sea life should they ever float that far.

Hi John Fantastic footage of the dolfins escorting the boat, stunning stuff that not many people get to see in real time, they are fabulous, you can't help but smile with that sort of playfulness from them. The blue sharks are a special species of shark, probably the most common in british waters, and a stunning creature, congratulations on a successful trip and another wonderful entertaining video buddy. John - At 08:50 when you were displaying your yellow duck, it occurred to me that you then sent him floating down the middle of the chum slick. Have you ever tried placing some of your chum ingredients inside Donald with drilled holes to keep him releasing the attractant to keep the sharks interested? I just wondered as it could increase you catch percentage if you did manage it.

@@mstrdiver I have used pieces of spunge on the hook and a short length of weaker than hooklength line, tied direct from hook to any size or density of sponge, soaked in any attractant needed 🤔.. Carp used to love evaporated milk n tiger nut juice 😂😂

I got to eat shark once when i was 3 or 4 but i did not really like the taste of its white meat. I like every other sea creature bur sharks are kinda meh, never been a fan of it... BUT i would love to try and capture one and release just to see what fight theu put up on a rod :D

Mako shark is excellent. It's similar to swordfish. Also porbeagle is good.

I was going to ask, eating grilled thresher shark steaks was a thing here in Southern California decades ago, but it is much more rare now. Marlin and swordfish are available if you get a lucky weekend on a charter boat, or if you are willing to pay big money. Delicious, though. Light marinades with lime juice and garlic and chili peppers. I do know that people will keep skates and ray from beach&pier fishing for "poor man's scallops". I hear it's tasty, but not sporting.

Fantastic fishing John spot on! I love you educational and conservational approach to all your videos, im sure it gives a lot of viewers some food for thought when it comes to fish handling and taking care of the marine ecosystem, its something i drill my kids on constantly, be careful what you do with your waste and where it may end up and only handle if its safe for the animal aswell as yourself! Great angling great job and keep them coming! 🎣🎣🎣

This years season has been a hard one. Lots of lost fishing due to bad weather and water quality. yesterday was probably my last trip on the blues for this year. Taking my yearly tally to 40+ blues with a top fish of 120lb. Not bad considering. 😊

John, very instructive! I have never shark fished and the piece on prep etc is common sense but when faced with the first ever take, all logic goes out the window 😂.The Donald addition is fabulous! Another fantastic teaching video! Thanks again. Oh yes and the dolphin part.. stunning!

Great video John, thank you. Just one minor point, one minute you said feed line out with the bail arm closed then a bit later you did the opposite. I’m just grateful you share this with us as there are guys like me who would never be able to do what you look easy!

One reason to open the bail arm is to get a bait out there fast!! I had maybe seen a shark and wanted to get the bait to it quick.
