Quiet quitting isn’t a real thing. Workers are not doing the bare , they’re simply just doing their job. Workers are no longer allowing employers to abuse their time.

i’m single without kids and i just recently started working from home and it’s been fantastic. i no longer pay out the butt for gas due to commuting, no longer wasting time during my day driving to and from work, and i feel much more productive being in a comfortable environment instead of stuck in an office for 8+ hours a day. it’s been so good on my mental health, being able to take breaks and walk my dog or even take a nap at lunch if i need to or am not feeling well. i have co workers with kids and they love the flexibility it provides. as a disabled veteran, it’s also helped me with my chronic pain and it’s a fantastic options for people with disabilities. i understand the point joy is trying to make, but there are always going to be jobs that can’t be worked remotely. companies can actually save a lot of money by paying less in rent for office spaces and utility bills. we as a society need to focus more on workers rights and needs.

I am loving Mark Cuban more and more. I like that he understand there will never be a good answer for both sides. if theres progress in one way then it'll hurt something else. power to the worker isnt killing small businesses. there are many other factors and people being able to work from home and be able to take care of children etc. is a step in the right direction.

THE FOMC IS OVER - Still no change on the market. We are already in the big crash, Inflation is a catastrophe. This CPI report is a colossal failure. To bring the housing, Stock/Crypto market to a halt, the FED will have to pull all the stops. The unfortunate issue is that other markets are being decimated. If you want to stay green, you have to rely on a lot of diversification. Currently up 14% and being careful. Still a better deal than leaving it in a savings or checking account yielding 0-1 percent interest.

Something to the effect that once Whoopi was done wearing her trousers that she (Whoopi) should give them to Barbara and Barbara would make two pairs out if them. The panel and the crowd reacted negatively. Ana Navarro quickly jumped in and gave Barbara some shade, sarcastically saying that she (Barbara ) shouldn't talk because she saw Barbara's dress on two other people. One of them was a celebrity. That defused the situation.

I’ve worked at home since 90 with computers. Sometimes I train staff and am working on site. I tell my staff: get your head in the game. Maybe it’s because I’m old but I think that’s the way to win, you put all that stuff aside and your brain is focused on the job. I also told them, you’re selling your life by the hour, it has to be worth it the only way you’ll get good quality pay and product is to have your head fully in the game. People who have their head in the game are the ones who improve their skills in the game and are able to move to the next level. I’ve seen it all my life. I have made friends at work at times but I don’t socialize with them during work. I do admit to overworking. That needs to be dealt with but I don’t think the solution is to dilute my concentration and thus the quality of my work. Wages have been stagnant for 30 years while production has soared. That is completely unacceptable. But it must be addressed with increased wages not decreased quality of work.

I think Urban areas will see more small cafes and corner stores in residential areas do better or increase. Sure downtown cores will lose some cafes restaurants and bars that survived on lunch crowds and after work crowds. The people haven't gone anywhere locations just changed. I lived in a city that revitalized its downtown core from predominantly Office/commercial to adding condos and more apartments because by 5pm on a Friday it was a ghost town until Monday. There's going to be a lot of commercial space unoccupied as companies downsize. Opportunity to install more housing. And then it won't matter to those small businesses if they're in the office tower across the street at lunch or the apartment building above them.

I actually disagree that small business will close because of working from home. People are at home and they can simply go to the coffee shop down the street from THEIR house. People generally spend 40 hours a week (some even more) at work and they say that they spend more time with their co-workers than their own family and this remote working is the best. I believe the best type of work is hybrid. You still have that social time in office and comaradery, but you get to work from home to be more with your family. But that also makes it harder on businesses with how much rental space they will need.

I fought for more money but I was happy to keep my job so as I appreciate a good annual raise I'm still doing management level tasks and getting paid admin assistant salary, I'm not alone so the employers attitude to weed out what he thinks of as lazy workers he sees are the quiet quitters, well the reason I was kept was for my work ethic and skills but I have learned that employers will push as much as they can on you. Oh and the others who were promoted double or tripled their salaries (I'm the only woman on my team). Our company went from 30% permanent remote workers (pre-pandemic) to 70% permanent remote workers and the company plans to keep it that way (for those who want to work from home).

Dear lord these people are so out of touch… The old one needs to understand that him looking for people willing to work nights and weekends isn’t going to get him very far, and he’s gonna be surprised when his competitors actually do better because they respect their employees. Bringing your ‘whole self’ to work doesn’t mean people are chit chatting and gossiping all day. Come on, do some research. It means you get to come to work as a person of color, a gay person, etc. and bring that set of experiences and talk about how that has an impact on your life and your work and what you bring to the table, not that you have to fit the old white personal (male) mold. This table could use some younger and more diverse faces. It gets more out of touch by the day.

I agree, everyone needs to work 40+ hours a week because its the American thing to do. We live to work and there will be none of this work to live nonsense. Centuries of evolution so we can all wake up and hop into morning traffic and spend hours on a computer, forget about your own computer at home, you can sit in traffic to go do that somewhere else and hopefully you wont get hit by an 18 wheeler on your route!!!

The real reason employers are demanding employees return back to office is to justify their real estate investment. It’s not to “build relationships”/ “collaborative projects” or whatever strategic marketing they put out. They spent such and such amount on the building/ leases/ etc and the employees represent a return on investment.

Workers gaining power is not going to kill small businesses because if corporations follow, those workers will get more financial power to SAVE those businesses that they love. Right now, small businesses don't have power BECAUSE of the lack of economic support they get from the consumers they live around. Right now, if a big business wanted a small shop gone so they can build a new boutique they could immediately. However, if the consumers new powers they are talking about here go into affect, PR itself can slow down that ability. This economy looks horrible for rich people because they are so dissociated from reality that they don't understand they should be supporting any legislation that helps the common consumer because the common consumer will give a much high ROI that other rich people. We the people should always have that power, it sucks it too a pandemic to see people standing up for their rights as a consumer and worker.

People that are putting the people at their jobs as 'Friends' are in for a rude awakening. To be realistic, you could be friends with some if any.Regard them as co workers and associates. Those that you really are friends with, yeah they are your friends.Don't buy into what the sharks say on the video that the people at your place where you are employed are your friends.Hope they do you well,so what they aren't your friends.
