Here's a quick fix if you're getting an error #6 on your shark vacuum. It's a problem with the bumper and in 2 minutes I can show you how to fix it. Let us know if you're having any other issues with the Shark and we will try our best to help.

I used a compressed air can and just blasted top and bottom of the front bumper and fixed it without taking it apart. This video helped me think of that, but I wanted to try the lazy way first and it worked !

Thanks I showed your video to my vacuum because the bumper (in my opinion) wasn't stuck and it just fixed itself. In reality, I kept pushing the bumper in and I think just knowing there are buttons on top let me know to push down also.

A few football kicks ought to fix it since the constant error #6 is too enraging for anything else. I think removing the bumper entirely is a better option.

You can get a new one for $148.. that's what I paid for mine. So I don't know where you got $500 from.

So, after watching the video, and reading some of the comments....I picked the vacuum by the bumper, shook it quite a bit, in a vibrating pattern, and it fixed itself! I hope the comment helps someone.

Thanks! When I pulled the bumper off, one of the black contact switches was stuck in. I pushed it in and it popped out to it's normal position. Hopefully, it doesn't get stuck again.

Took it apart and didn't see anything wrong, so I put it back together and the Error 6 is gone. 👍

Thanks for this. I love my Shark. This bumper error came up after its monthly cleaning and I was not able to resolve it by cleaning the bumper. The error persisted and I got so frustrated I kicked my Shark. Funny enough, this seemed to resolve the error 😅. I must have a faulty sensor or something.

I had this issue, cleaning and all other tips did not work. I noticed that was also having issues parking in the charging base, the will was spinning but not moving right so I took the wheels out and play with the spring so it was more short. Funny result, the wheels were then pushing harder to the floor so the spinning issues where gone but for some reason that also fixed the error 6 bumper issue and is now working perfectly

So when docked I'm getting error 9 and undocked I get error 6 Both dust home bin and mobile bin are clean and secure. Filter on home is clean Bumper moves freely 0 resistance. 😢

I tried all of my tools and didn’t have the right size. So I decided hitting the thing was the way to go and it worked 😅

So I think our vacuum's problem is that the springs get stuck and have to be manually stretched out every time. Can you make a video on how to repair them?
