Why would releasing the video of it tarnish the reputation of the aquarium? Idk about anyone else, but that would get me to visit the aquarium. LOL It's not their fault the octopus was just a bit smarter than them. 😅

Netflix would probably be a good fit for him. They normally give you greater reign to do whatever you want and I’m sure Forrest has some great ideas that would be popular such as doing a series looking for species that have been supposedly seen, but believed to be extinct.

@@ForrestGalante 3:30 That's cause the average and below average person can not fantom than octopus or octopi can be a predatory. I wasn't taught sharks even small bullsharks can not be prey, anything is up for grabs. Look at snakes in their home ranges: they are all prey until they become a Reasonable Size to take on something larger like a caiman or small enough dog to struggle it than kill it. Where people don't respect how "anything can become prey or predatory" is beyond me. That's like saying no one can be homeless, like what? Anything can happen

This channel seems like it is trying to make clickbait and fake stories for money. Be cautious and don't believe everything your daughter tells you from here. Nature is way more interesting and complex. Study it if you're interested. They only talked about the most basic things about an octopus.

The fact that this octopus is smart enough to figure out he or she had a buffet right in front of them and knew when it was dinner time is one of the most amazingly amusing things I've heard about this species. That aquarium probably could have packaged the security footage as promotional material and sent it to new stations and got a ton of visitors to come see this genius of an animal.

Hi there! This is a common question. Octopuses actually prefer small spaces! Even in the wild, they prefer small dens - or crevices - to hide in and live most of their life. It's also helpful to know that an octopus can fit through any opening as long as their beak can fit - which means a very large octopus can fit in a very small space comfortably! We make sure all of our animals receive the best care and their enclosures meet or exceed requirements as set by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. We hope this helps!

if they can eat a shark they can most certainly decide we are food and come after us. Make sea monster stories more historical accounts after seeing this. we know that these stories of legend that never seem to go away are based in history and with how giant the world was for early human populations I can only imagine the giant specimens of every animal our ancient warriors had to face and fight for survival. But also these giants were amazing resources as well needing only one to last or be shared for resources versus many making population growth possible.

1. This would be a very rare case 2. If it was true doesn't not releasing the footage even though the fact is known tarnish their reputation even MORE? Unless it's... FAKE 3. The original hypothesis on how they could be disappearing lacked the consideration of disease or anything like that, along with calling the octopus that just "killed" the poor sharks that people also worked hard to raise and probably bonded with "truly amazing" are signs that this is a sloppily put together hoax. 4. Rewatch the video and count how many times they use "big words" and repeat words to elongate their sentences to make it sound sophisticated and sciencey. His supposed "amazedness" is pretty deadpan sounding as well. Also, an old friend will also be more likely to help him with the hoax. "In this instance, in the instance (overusing the same word) of the missing sharks, in that aquarium up in Alaska or wherever it happened to be (implying that HE, AND HIS AQUARIUM WORKER FRIEND, DOES NOT KNOW WHERE THIS EVEN HAPPENED), it's pretty safe to say, that it is undeniably (I thought you said "PRETTY") safe the octopus that was causing this unusual (trying to sound sophisticated) phenomenon of (saying missing sharks again) missing sharks. In this case, I think the mystery has been solved (after already saying it was undeniably the octopus, probably trying to make people forget about ALL telltale signs that this is fake) Generally this video has more red flags of a hoax, than an octopus has arms. I bet most of this channel's videos are scripted by AI, I wouldn't be surprised if the AI knew what he was doing and decided to mess him up. Don't support this cash cow of a channel.
