FYI, I review the BLACK barrel Sharpie S Gel in another video 4 months later that I really enjoyed. So either I tested one that had a minor 'feel' difference, or some other factors that changed, I did enjoy the BLACK barrel pen. The BLACK barrel pen actually feels lighter when both held. The one reviewed here has more 'substance' weight to it. Could that affect the experience? Apparently, to me!

The black barrel pen feels lighter than the others because it's a plastic barrel rather than metal the 1's with the metal barrel are gunmetal grey red dark blue & champagne & also white (which seems to have been deleted) the black 1's have a black clip rather than metal because it's a 1 piece barrel apart from the grip

I've noticed that with these sharpie s gel pens you can't write on gloss cardboard I.e. packaging cardboard the ink will smudge

That's pretty much how it is for any non-permanent ink. You write on gloss it will likely smear.

For "casual" drawing, like mine, mostly done on newspaper, a secret drawing tool has to be the PaperMate 1.0 M. It's range is barely there wispy to hard solid black. If you're lucky and can find the older batches that are gray black plastic instead of black plastic, even better. I ain't kidding. The range is crazy. You can get 60 for about 17 bucks on eBay.

The cheap price that you mentioned is because papermate pens are made of cheaper materials than pilot & sharpie but then again these manufacturers didn't anticipate people scrutinising their products........swings & roundabouts eh

Your spelling of Shakespeare was correct the first time.....the numbers on the refill that you mentioned are manufacturers batch numbers for quality control purposes I've had papermate gel pens before but these are far superior they're even better than uniball signo gel pens they are expensive especially when considering what they are but? most of the costs is down to distribution & retailers profits as well as actual production costs per pen (these are mass produced in batches)

Buy the pen, and then some cheap needle point refills or pens from Amazon or something, and then replace the refill that came with the sharpie.

Look more closely at the Amazon price. What you thought was a single pen going for $10 - $12 was actually a box of 12? Right? So they’re going for a buck apiece!

A 12 pack of pens selling for $1 each? rather than $10 per individual pen that's what you call realistic pricing & not taking the customer for a mug the price tag of $12 for 12 pens is very good & reasonable........I'd be getting multiple packs & obviously use 1 & keep the others in reserve

There isn't no visible difference between them you'd have to look 👀 at them through a magnifying glass but who cares as long as it does what it's designed to do what difference does it make

@@Oshic1273 That would make no sense. My next video is not going to be about Sharpies, nor the one after that. I'm pretty sure it will be many moons before I do another Sharpie video. Just relish in the knowledge of knowing that you picked up on it. :-) PS: You notice something different?
