Shawn had a Completely Balanced & Proportionate Physique from head to toe.. I believe he's the Greatest 212 of all time.

@@mogenvonbogel7342 no he didnt, other than FDB and possibly AT poses Dorian CRUSHED Ray( and everyone else) NOBODY could hang with Dorian on the 2 back poses and front lat spread. Side triceps?Not even close again Ray was great but muscularity matters a ton in the mens open division. Dorians condition was also unmatched. On what criteria does Ray beat Yates? he doesnt even beat him in the symmetry round, as Yates width and density and short torso/long legs are too much Fun fact-in the 1994 Mr O THREE GUYS beat Ray in the symmetry rd- Yates, Levrone and Dillett....yeah you heard that right, eve Paul was considered more symmetrical than Ray. All those 3 guys are much wider than Ray.

Shawn Ray was one of the most complete bodybuilders, head to toe, ever. He had no weak points. He had a tight midsection with no bloat. He had thin skin and great symmetry and well shaped muscle bellies. Shawn Ray is arguably one of the best bodybuilders ever and quite possibly the best to never win Mr. Olympia. He had the misfortune of competing in the 1990s, in my opinion the best decade in IFBB history.

And that was also Shawn’s downfall. Now if he was 5 11 be more impressive but the one thing on Shawn was he was so balanced he didn’t stand out.

People can talk shit about shawn, but even the haters couldnt deny his physique. Whatever smack he talked his physique backed it up. 212 guy going against 250lb monsters! 2 second places at mr o, 12 mr o appearances never fell out of top 5, greatest 212 guy ever.......

Too bad they never had a lower weight class ...would have been some epic battles between the lighter guys. I never liked dorian's physique after he started tearing muscles. 1994 and beyond.

Shawn ray had the best body of them all. It tells you something when someone doesn’t play the size game with all those monster he was on stage with and still finished top 5 every time.

best 90s buddy in my opinion and extremely smart to. they did a mistake not giving this guy a title, he would had been a great ambassador for the sport instead they went for people who literally have no education and can't say a sentence without making people laugh

He wouldn't have even made weight. He was around 5'6", 205-210 lbs in his prime, I think he's around 30 lbs over the limit.

Shawn didn't understand that being right, must be matched with timing. He could have believed and said all these things after winning the Mr.O rather than saying it before and making the judges inherently against him. Strategy is knowing that you must be right at the right time, it's not enough to just be right. That said, Shawn has by far, my favorite body building physique of all time, par none.

Nobody ever denied his physique. He cemented his fate by running his mouth and bashing the judges and IFBB. Same as today he doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut.

He spoke his mind. He had a good point in that the panel didn’t change much for several years. Why would you expect someone else to win? I know he ran his mouth a lot and was abrasive but come contest day he should only be judged on his physique. They impacted his livelihood. The worst his talking did was hurt their feelings as they still got paid the same. No I am not Shawn! Haha

I'm a big Yates fan i can say he only deserved 2of those Sandows flex and Shawn should have 2 apiece with Kevin with 1 Sandow.. but politics have pushed me away from a pro card. Much respect to all these athletes for the sacrifice 🙏 of there live so they can make s few crumbs$ while the crumb feeders make millions $ off them..... OK like a marhayden I used to kind of be more of a hater but either way... After listening to that particular clip I definitely respect him even more. His body stands alone... I met him at a seminar in the local gym in New York. And at the end of the day just like he knows and and like it or not just a little too short and just missing the overwhelming knock-out punch to win the "Big O" However pretty much everything he says is true lol

Hard, rock solid conditioning, grainy dense looking muscle bellies, But to say nasser is better than shawn is a insult to shawn. Shawn is too polished for nasser, but if your looking only for size, then nasser takes the cake. Easy to sit for u and say, you wouldnt say that if u saw both nasser or shawn together on stage side by side.

Shawn was/is right about yates,he shouldn't have won 3 out of the six yates won ,maybe one more.Ray definitely beat him if not twice.Nassar 100% beat yates.its more a popularity contest then bb one at times. We know, yates fans see no wrong when it comes to him but sorry just because someone is a fan favorite doesn't make them the better one automatically
