When Twilight was popular it reminded me of John Carpenters In the Mouth of Madness a film that I watched when I was a teenager and revisited a few times when Twilight was popular because it reminded of the author and fandom and what made that film so scary how close it was to what was happening at the time because it was on point and got so much right. I highly recommend it because John Carpenter got it right again.

I used to like Twilight when I was younger but now that I am older I realized so many things I didn’t before. Like how toxic the relationship is, the storyline doesn’t always make sense, and it was somewhat poorly written, etc etc yet I couldn’t put the books down when I read them the second time when I was older lol. It was still a book you couldn’t put down. I don’t plan to read them again now that I’ve them twice that’s for sure.

So a fun fact: I recently got an official Twilight guidebook at Goodwill, mostly wanted it because the art is the same as the graphic novels and I wanted them for references. But it had character's birth dates, including Resume. 9/11/2006 You're right, reading this as satire makes it amazing, because there's no way I can think of that CGI disaster baby being born on a known disaster day and take it seriously. There's also another short side POV book, aside from Midnight Sun, focused on Victoria's newborn vampire army, specifically the one girl who tried running away. And then the genderbend. Yes, the genderbend book. But then there's The Host. If you ever think Twilight is bad, Host is worse. I actually could get through Twilight, could NOT get through Host. Body-snatching aliens, but with the 2000s YA stuff.

EXACTLY. When i red them i was in the target, but i did that for my ethics. Everyone was shitting on that saga (i was siding with the potterheads), but they were not reading it and I can't criticise a book i didn't read so i thought, fuck it, I'm gonna read the first so i can shit on them as well. It was hard finish the first, i did it because i needed to, but then i discovered that Bella tries to kill herself a lot of times and that made me read the second. After that it kinda caught me, not gonna lie, i was perfectly in the target after all, and i read the third and i just remember Jacob heating Bella and thinking the worst things while her icy boyfriend coud read his mind. That was funny as shit for my 14-yo self. But in breaking down i broke down, after vamps-Bella tries to kill Jacob's friend i couldn't do it anymore. So i understand perfectly how you felt and thanks for representing so well
