Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZfaq, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZfaq. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZfaq, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

My favorite Huster Du songs: "Newest Industry," "Pink Turns To Blue," "Terms of Psychological Warfare," and "Books About UFOs."

Those outside of punk scene probably don't get the significance of this song, but that's okay. Anyway, this was a breakthrough in punk because it was extremely atypical for a punk band to cover a song by a hippie band. Hüsker Dü had done something similar before when they covered Donovan's 'Sunshine Superman.' Hüsker Dü was a band that broke the rules -- even punks own rules.

Holy crap! Takes me back to days of cassettes and large stereos! This was on SST Records, a label that really expanded my ears to the world of punk and weird music!!!

Thank you for giving them a listen. I knew of HD back in the 80s but you wouldn’t hear their music unless someone you know had their albums or you shelled out the cash to buy music from a band you never heard. Bob Mould’s solo work first caught my attention with the poppiest pop song, “See a Little Light.” I really think you’d like it - more melody and orchestration, less yelling. Bob also started another band in the 90’s, Sugar, that had songs that received air time such as “Helpess” and “If I Can’t Change Your Mind.”

That takes me back to high school. Lots of good songs from them. Bob Mould had other good stuff in his solo career and with Sugar.

Incidentally, Bob Mould might best be known to people today as the composer of the theme song to 'The Daily Show,' -- 'Dog on Fire.'

Pronounced 'HOO'-sker Doo *edit* also, as a sidenote, The original author of the song, Roger McGuinn from The Byrds, gave this song his full approval saying it was his favorite cover version around the time it was released in the mid-80s.

Great reaction as always :) This cover isn't my cup of tea but it's interesting. The only cover I know and love of "Eight Miles High" is by Crowded House with Roger McGuinn of the Byrds (which doesn't sound extremely different from the original).

The Byrds and Lighthouse...............the best versions of this song ...........especially the Live one from LightHouse...brilliant.

If you don't like the HC punk genre, there's no point in listening to it. Many comments compare this cover with similar psychedelic/progressive ones, which makes no sense. Originally a hippie song for laid-back trips, Huskers turned it into a sonic storm. The live version (Camden 1985) is even wilder. But if you don't like this type of music, it's obvious that it will be "too loud".
