I have met so many university students who have left mainstream Sunni Islam because of acts such as showering people with cash in gatherings like it is a night club, shouting slogans in mosques such as, "Mara Pir Sohna!" Where naat readers leave gatherings with thousands within one hour simply by hyping up murids, and viral videos of pure ignorance. The sahaba would not even move in the presence of the Beloved nor lift their sights.
The question is why have we let these people come abroad and rinse our community every Rabi' al-Awwal? Were there no lovers in their countries? For years, people have asked me to attend many of these gatherings, and every day I thank Allah that He has protected me from such primitive behaviour and backwardness. May Allah allow us to retun to the Quran and Sunnah
