@@Josh_JKL Wouldn't really call it an old thing. As they still do it in the present. If you watch enough wrestling you can always tell when they are calling the next spots in the match. Usually whenever they have like a headlock on the opponent or right before they perform an irish whip. Some aren't really good at hiding it though like you can watch John Cena matches and just hear him plan as day calling out the next few spots.

fun fact I used to do captions for the site that does smosh (have done plenty of their videos!!) and capitoners are given almost no information and are way underpaid & not given enough time to go look it up. That’s why sometimes there’s no names at all - the captioner can’t tell like Courtney from Kimmy for example so when they speak off camera it just says [Woman]

For those uneducated, Kimmy’s fiancé is a professional wrestler named Shane Haste! (But you knew the last part) He is likely best known in pro wrestling circles for his work alongside fellow Aussie Mikey Nicholls in a tag team currently known as TMDK (The Mighty Don’t Kneel) and was known in WWE as Shane Thorne where he again teamed with Nicholls (then was Nick Miller) as TM-61! Today they use the names Mikey Nicholls and Shane uses the name Shane Haste (not his real name, his real last name is Veryzer) as they work together playing as bad guys in Japan!
