EN: After two months my Davus pentaloris finally made an egg sac... and ate it after a few days. More days in the vid.

Well... that's propably the reason why it's always worth trying to pair Ts... not everything goes according to plan ;)

Oof, I feel for you. Earlier this month I had a Kochiana brunnipes eat her sac after sitting on it for 25 days. It was all gone when I noticed but I did see a single, infertile egg (yup, the sac was unfertilised so the eggs were infertile, English is hard lol) left behind so I think - read: I HOPE!! - the whole sac was unfertilised. Worst part is I got the male on loan. It sucks when it's someone else's male and something like this happens. :( But it's part of the journey and a learning experience! Better try and fail than not try at all! Fingers crossed, or as we say here in Sweden, holding my thumbs, that next breeding project succeeds! :D

That's how we say in Poland ^^ It's always worth trying ^^ TBH I enjoy this journey and sharing my experiences with all of you. Failures are important in learning not only in spider keeping/breeding. Sorry to hear that your brunnipes breeding attempt went awry. But there is always a chance that next time it will work well. So far I have two paired spiders in my collection. At least they look gravid, so fingers crossed. And yesterday a P reduncus turned into an adult male, so... more pairings are on the horizon ^^;

@@tarantuhalla It sure is a learning curve with ups and downs keeping and breeding, but I thoroughly enjoy it! Psalmopoeus is my favourite genus and P. reduncus was my first successful breeding and producing slings all by myself (my own female and male, without outside help), so those have a special place in my heart. Looking forward to seeing a video of that if you can film it! Best of luck!! ☺️

@@Lewisiaisoutofcontext Psalmopoeus is my favourite genus so far, but my favourite T is the Poecilotheria rufilata. There is still a lot to learn for me... from a keeping/breeding perspective and recording/editing. I want to share my passion in the best way possible... although everything needs to fit in the time constrains between work and feeding and everything. But it gets easier with every edit. Practice, practice, practice ^^

Yes, although he looks... very old now. I will give it another go after a big feeding.

Dać znajomym, wymienić z innymi hodowcami, sprzedać, zostawić... jest tych opcji trochę ;)

@@p1ngu600 Przy hodowaniu ptaszników kokon często wyciąga się po ok 5-6 tygodniach. Po tym okresie w kokonie znajdują się już nimfy. Przy wskoczeniu na pierwsze "L", pająki już polują. Wtdy już należy myśleć nad rozdzieleniem pająków, by nie zżerały się nawzajem. Generalnie rodzic nie zje świeżo wyklutych młodych, ale młode muszą pomalutku myśleć o opuszczeniu rodzinnego domku i działać na swoim.
