Nice theory and i completely agree with it. Tbh i think she passed away cuz in the end of the movie her parents are in garden alongside her and other people and they're all happy and stuff. Basically i believe that scene respresents her part of heaven, especially considering the fact u said her parents already died instantly

fun fact! with the drawing and painting aspect, there’s a segment of the original book by neil gaiman i think you may find interesting. nearing the end, in the scavenger hunt, coraline notes that the world is changing as she’s taking the children’s eyes. just at the end when she’s going to find her parents, it’s noted that the house looks more like a photograph of a house rather than the real thing, and a few pages later, it’s stated it “no longer looked like a photograph-more like a drawing, a crude, charcoal scribble of a house drawn on gray paper.” for the rest of the book, the other world is described as resembling a child’s drawing, except for the inside of the house, which would seem to be the only true part of the world. it’s really interesting!

Hi! I love your videos, especially the Coraline theories. The way you look into details and put more into the theory with each part is so interesting. I would have something to add too, about the Beldam: You said Coraline has made this world herself--right? Its her place to stay while she's in her coma. The Beldam, however, didn't seem to be part of her imagination. Which got me thinking--if the other world represents Coraline's limbo between life and death, then the Beldam could be the Grim Reaper, luring her deeper into the trap to die. The Beldam is pale and bony, similar to the Grim Reaper, after all. My theory is reinforced with the way the Beldam was stretching its arms as Coraline tried to escape--a last attempt to get her to the afterlife? That's why the ghost children are trying to help Coraline get out. They know that the longer she stays, the slimmer the chances get of her waking up from her coma. What do you all think? [btw, can I please get a shout out?]

I love the theory that coraline is sill in the other world. Cause when she was in the other world for the first time... she didn't get out with the "door" she just sleeped in her bed.... so she never escaped. And at the end the cat disappeared... but he only can do this in the other world and not in the real world...

This does make sense, but I have one question: If all of this is fake, then why does the doll of Coraline get made at the beginning? Your other theories made sense. It is my belief that the world Coraline goes to was made in her head, but it was because the Beldam used her to make it. She was making her ideal world, to lure her into a trap.

I think Coraline wanted to live but she had no choice so she wanted die instead. In the coraline part one and two there were so much death.

The "souls" theme is very clear and has been widely discussed. Less noted, however, is the more specific importance of "the artist's soul" in this film. Spink, Forcible and Bobinsky are all creative souls. Coraline clearly is too (expressive blue hair, cool drawings, vivid imagination while water witching etc.). Perhaps the beldam specifically needs the souls of people with strong imaginations? This might also tie in with what you're saying about the influence of John Keats and Vincent Van Gogh -- both these figures are renowned as artists who were never successful in their own lifetime and died very young, but are now understood to be creative geniuses. Is the beldam draining creative souls of their lustre in order to survive? Seems possible...

At the beginning of the movie, we saw that the fairy changed a random doll into a doll that looks like Coraline, and she also changed her parents who you said work for her into dolls, and then Coraline burns it. Why would a fairy make dolls?? Why did Coraline burn it??? What would happen if she did not burn it???? I also noticed that the other world is mostly made up of dolls just like when the cat bit the mouse cotton came out of it not blood. Additionally, dolls have buttons sowed in their eye. I feel this is suspicious. Mabe the dolls are souls I guess.

I saw the deleted part drawing on the fridge and u know when the parents died it was snowing bc u said that when they died it was 7:30 and it was snowing so. When she died from her coma she saw her parents coverd with snow and the they planted the garden and lived happy in heaven I think it makes sense does it
