As a child my mother told me if I had bangs my hair would automatically stop growing. I believed her. Years later I realized this was a perfect way to prevent me from giving myself bangs.

Parents should try not to use lying to manipulate their kids. People tell their kids not to lie and then lie to them all day long. Some parents will punish a child for lying which is pretty hypocritical if they themselves lie to their kid...and they usually do lie to them pretty frequently. Lying is a normal stage of childhood development, btw. If your kid never reaches a stage where they lie, there's something wrong with their intellectual evelopment.

@@mygirldarby i see the point youre trying to give, and it’s a very good one. i see that lying to your kid is very, very bad and isn’t a good example. but, i think that if parents do this they should be aware and tell their kids they lied for their own good and benefit and the kid would understand that it was for the better. im not sure if you could understand the point im trying to give, and if you dont, feel free to ask questions if u wish! good day!

Communicate instead of just assuming your child needs some lie to trick them into listening to you. Weirdo. It's like preparing your child for grooming and manipulation. Children should be learning how to tell when someone's lying to them or making something outlandish up

@@katc2040 i also see your point, and i agree. im actually wrong on my end, but like with certain circumstances. i think it might depend on how old the child is though. as a parent, they should know their child, so they should treat them as they know best. for example, you have a very, very stubborn and difficult kid whos too young to understand much. its the job of the parent to decide which method they should use to teach their kid how to be good and whatnot. i think its totally up to the parent how to teach their kid and what to teach them. this is just my opinion and i also agree with yours. have the most wonderful day! edit: for your fist reply, i totally agree. but like sometimes some kids are too young and incapable to understand very well so i think that it would be ok to help the child learn not to do bad things. but, i think that parents really need to remember to explain their lie to their child when theyre more capable of understanding what is right and wrong. does this clear it up? feel free to ask questions or make comments if you want! im happy to reply,

The third girl had me SO scared from the jump because the cutting of the bangs and thinking they’re magically gonna have movement and lay flat is a classic growing up black mistake 🤣 I’d wager we’ve all been there at some point, doesn’t matter if you’re natural or relaxed, if you don’t put some major heat on top of a good cut and tie them down at night, they’re gonna look a MESS 🤣

Yes I’d def like that. Whenever I see a styling vid it’s always people with really long hair or really short hair. My hair is just past my shoulders now and it doesn’t braid easily or anything so I find I can’t do most styles in typical styling videos. 🥺 Bobby pins are all that work for me really....

I have 4C natural hair. When I was younger, I wanted bangs like a lot of my friends. Little did I know at the time that my friends had bangs because their hair is more tailored to it than my own. So I'm glad I was never dumb enough to cut bangs on myself because it would end up like ImNotaChiaPet's and my mom would've kicked my ass lol

My hair is hair 4a,b,c and I had bangs in high school, and I LOVED them. But at the time I was straightening my hair everyday, so it made sense lol. I wear my natural most of the time now, and I would probably never do naturally curly bangs, but I’ve seen plenty of black women rock the hell out of them.

You can find gorgeous pictures of 4c bangs - I love curly bangs. But I have 0 idea what kind of work is needed to maintain and style them, and that’s always the problem with bangs I think. I have wavy hair, and some days I wake up with them looking great, but other days I wake up looking like a Shetland pony.

I have 4 c hair and sometimes I just shape my hair into bangs lol I would imagine its similar with cut bangs- lil shaping and you're good to go. The lack of movement is actually helpful with that as you can just kinda put your hair where you want it to be to some degree

Same, same. My hair is also type 4, but unfortunately, I WAS dumb enough to cut bangs on myself and my mom did absolutely nothing to fix how jacked they looked. And, even more unfortunate, is the fact that I have a school photo as proof. Yikes. Definitely learned my lesson though.

Yeah. I went natural three years ago by shaving my head and I now have bangs that just barely cover my eyes from the shrinkage without cutting anything. If I cut bangs, I would have baby bangs for three more years 😭

I started wearing the front bangs of my dreams last year after always having either side sweep bangs or just split down the middle. I also always wore my hair in a low ponytail because I hate hair on my neck! It always looked... a but unkempt. But I finally found my dream style. Angled bob, front bangs, in a really flattering warm toned auburn brown with pink fairy hair for highlights! I feel like me!

everyone told me that my face shape wouldn't work with bangs and I did not care what people would think about me so I cut my own bangs (with no tutorial) and they came out GREAT and me and everyone loved them. I had them for a little under a year and now I am growing them out because they are annoying to style and maintain after a while

My mom cut my bangs when I was about 10. She pulled the hair down to where she thought the bangs should sit... I have 3c curls, of course the hair bounced up... It looked like a caterpillar on my forehead 🤦🏼‍♀️🙈 Haven't had bangs since (after they finally grew out...)

I'm 50.. and I've only had my bangs cut a few times by a hairdresser..I've almost always cut my own. I've also has a couple of BAD bang cuts.. People do usually compliment me or ask me to do theirs. Anyhoo!, love watching these, love watching you❤

After always feeling disappointed when my hair dresser cut my bangs, I just started doing them myself. 😅 It's really not that difficult if you just follow some instructions online and don't cut too much at the time... they always come out nice 🤷‍♀

I bout 2 of the Super Gloss but with 3 daughters with long hair, they have used it all before I even tried it lol. So far the products I have tried are awesome! We have the hydrating shampoo & conditioner, the purple shampoo & conditioner, and the heat protection spray.

I love bangs sooo much. I always end up cutting mine back when they grow out lol it’s definitely a commitment. I like how it hides the 5 head, and I don’t have to worry about doing my eyebrows everyday😂

Coloring your own hair isn't bad at all if you use the right products. Go to Sally's and buy professional hair color, not box dye at Walmart. I work at Sally's and color my own hair and it's very healthy.

I cut my own bangs a month ago, and it actually came out great! To be fair, I have been cutting my own hair and others hair for years and I went to school for makeup and hairstyling (we didn't cut hair but we learned a lot about hair), but I'm still proud lol!
