Moondancer is perfectly justified Twilight sucked as a friend in episode 1

The thing is that Twilight did not have a real reason to skip the party other than desinterest. She was only sent to Ponyville after declining the invite. Yes she was reading about Nightmare moon but at that point, she didn't know enough to know it was an actual threat. To her at that moment, it was simply a book that she happened to read, and place above her friendships like she was used to.

Honestly... party pooped always gets me frustrated cause the Yaks never really deserved the hospitality, seeing they freak out for anything at all.

I'm extremely over the moon for this episode because of the fact that Twi evolved into someone who cares for everyone. Remembering her old friends that she needs to apologize to is amazing character development

She’s the princess of friendship Scoot, she’s trying to develop diplomatic relations with other countries, she’s trying to be professional and not run the fade, no matter how much the Yaks would deserve it. The Moondancer episode is something I never expected the show to do and I really liked it, you get to see the unexpected consequences of such a seemingly inconsequential scene and Moondancer shows us how twilight would’ve been if she never left canterlot and made friends with the mane six. Her old friends can be seen in the background in ponyville many times, makes sense why Pinkie knows them, since she makes it her business to know every face. You can keep an eye out in the background for them now that you know.

I love how realistic Moondancer's outburst at Twilight feels since, even if Twilight had a reason to leave, for somepony as introverted and shy as Moondancer things like her best friend not showing up the first time ever she has the courage to host a party can hurt way more than most first realize (Also the next episode, S5E13 is my favorite of the entire show so that's exciting)

Yeah, the Moondancer episode can only really be understood if you've gone through something like that, otherwise it will seem ridiculous/ that she's overacting. I only saw this episode a few months ago and it almost makes me cry at how well Moondancer's feelings were represented because I know how it feels. And I hope if I ever hurt someone like Twilight did that they've happily moved on. This is a great episode for what it addressed and how it added more depth to Twilight's character and the story in general.

I LOVE THIS EPISODE!!! It honestly breaks my heart for both of them but I love how we see her heal and let people into her life 💗😭

This might just be me but I LOVE moon dancers design, she looks a lot like she did in g1 but I just also love how twilight and moon dancer are friends in g1 and g3 (⁎˃ᴗ˂⁎)

Hell yeah, Scoot mlp reaction time again! 1. "Party Pooped" is a very interesting episode to me, Especially because we learned about yet another new location in Equestria IE Yakyakistan. Though I can remember a lot of people in the fandom hating the Yaks but I for one hoped that someday we would see more of them and their kingdom. And of course this episode does have some memorable Pinkie Pie moments, Like when Pinkie said "This falls on my rump, And my rump alone" to this day that's considered to be one of the occasional dirty jokes that showed up in the FIM series, And when Pinkie Pie said "Curse/Thank you Sheep" those instantly became two of my all time favorite Pinkie Pie quotes! I especially loved Pinkie Pie's crazy quest to Yakyakistan, Because only she could make the trip to their and back to Ponyville in a day. 2. "Amending Fences" is another fan favorite episode! Just as Moondancer instantly became another fan favorite character. Fun fact: Moondancer is another leftover character from previous mlp gens g1 or G2 I believe. And even though I found Twilight's reasons for wanting to make amends to her old Canterlot friends, I don't condone the fact that she was basically harassing Moondancer into being her friend again. But there were moments in this episode that made me laugh, Like when Twilight was literally inside one of Moondancer's books and she scared her that part always made me laugh. Of course I also found moondancer's reasons for giving up on friendship to be somewhat understandable, Because sadly their are individuals who believe that if one friend abandons them then they are better off not trying to make anymore friends. But Twilight also had a point when she said that Moondancer shouldn't let Twilight's mistake be the reason that she can't be friends with anypony else. But anyway those are my thoughts on these episodes!

I relate to Moondancer a lot. I don't trust having friends anymore because I don't wanna be hurt again.

Love that the instant the pony goddess shows up, the yaks have some restraint. I don't understand why there was any desire to connect with the yaks. Even as allies, you'll find they are still insufferable and aggressive.

There were a LOT of parallels in the second episode here, showing how Moondancer is now how Twilight would have turned out if she hadn’t learned about friendship. There’s even several (almost) quotes that Moondancer says, which Twilight said in the first couple episodes. Like “crazy” ponies keeping her from studying. That’s part of why it’s a good episode to me. I believe that’s also why Moondancer’s design is literally just a color swapped Twilight in the flashbacks. Similarly to how Daring Do is a color swapped Rainbow Dash. Because RD sees herself in Daring Do while she8s losing herself in the books.

I love the episode “Amending Fences” in this reaction, Scoots. Moondancer is a troubled individual, but it’s understandable over why she rebuffs Twilight’s attempts at proper friendship that she never gave her in the past. Moondancer’s predicament is quite pitiable. I don't blame her for such a circumstance, but rebuffing all acts of friendship isn't the way to deal with it. Moral lesson: There's more to value than what you already have. Start anew.

seeing all these episodes again really has been bringing Pinkie up on my favorites as well, I think out of the mane six she is at the top for me now! also, Amending Fences is one of my favorite episodes in this show. Seeing Moondancer cry made me cry the first time I watched it.

Ah yes, one of the worst and one of the best episodes of season 1 lol Amending Fences is definitely one of the best episodes of series, in my opinion. When you dig into it, it's actually rather depressing. It takes itself seriously because it IS a serious topic. Moondancer shut herself off from the world because she felt abandoned by Twilight, because Twilight was her closest friend, and she rejected Moondancer's first ever attempt at opening up to people. It's sad looking back on season 1's premier knowing that after Twilight denied the party invitation, she basically never saw Moondancer again for YEARS. Moondancer has been living in depression, isolation, and neglect all this time while Twilight has been enjoying other friends in Ponyville without even thinking about her friends back at Canterlot. Also the line Moondancer says near the end before crying: "Those three finally convinced me that I had value and was worth befriending!" hits hard when you put all the context clues together. She literally felt worthless and unworthy of friends her whole life, and the first time she actually MADE them, her best friend couldnt even attend her first ever party. And then Twilight just totally left without another word. Moondancer's had to live all alone knowing that Twilight, the closest friend she ever knew/had, left her out of nowhere and has been getting to enjoy life as a princess with NEW friends while she lives as an outcast in her broken home with no one else thinking about her to the point that even Minuette, Lemon Hearts and Twinkle Shine forgot about her. It's really sad, honestly, and makes it easy to understand why she'd feel so crushed and unwanted. And Ik Twilight DID have some plans for herself to reject the party, but the problem is that it was something she did CONSTANTLY, and it wasn't even something she was doing for Celestia. It's implied she almost never had free time, and often times it was her choice to study even if she didnt have to. So she openly rejected her friend's party without stopping to consider how inconsiderate it really was all for her own personal desires. Not to mention the fact that Twilight, once again, literally said NOTHING about her leaving Canterlot. She just up and left, and never went back for to her friends for YEARS. She totally neglected them! Which is partly why this episode means so much: Twilight isnt making amends with her friends because the map told her too. She KNOWS she messed up and hurt Moondancer greatly, and it's her CHOICE to make it right. Moondancer did nothing wrong. She's the one who was abandoned and rejected in her most vulnerable point of life while Twilight has been living it up somewhere else and not bothering to make any form of contact with her again until now.

"Amending Fences" is one of those MLP:FiM episodes that actually brought me to tears...

On the other Whooves we have that brown stallion with the same Hour Glass. Many thought of him as The Doctor so Hour Glass to Time Travel makes sense. But during the Flim Flam episode he was the one who kept track of time of the competition. With all that said, people have also made the brown Hour Glass pony The Doctor and the blue Hour Glass pony a personification of The TARDIS (The Doctor's vehicle). Deep lore, won't get into it now, and I haven't seen all of Dr.Who to know exactly what's going on. 15:50 - Lyra and the gang coming and going between Ponyville and Canterlot. An explanation as to why we see these girls all over the place (not just they had a limited number of assets to choose from XD ). Go back to the first episode, you'll see at least one of them as Twi runs past, and then you'll see them again when she lands in Ponyville. And hey, Twi brushed them off so often it seems they gave up on saying hi in the end. They now waited for her to come back to them. 18:40 - It is not far off from "crying wolf". So often does she excuse herself from socializing that even if it actually is important this time, it seems no different from any other unimportant time. 20:20 - Wow, I am getting a big sense of Deja Vu here... All these words coming from Moondancer I swear I've heard before........ ;) 20:40 - Freeze Frame! There's a pony behind Moondancer looking at a menu... Maybe you can recognize the color scheme...

To answer the question about the horse and the “mouth rope” thing when driving a horse drawn carriage. NO they don’t put the rope in the mouth!! Idk why chat lied to you 😭 there is a mouth piece but it does NOT go into the mouth it’s more of a muzzle but the part you pull on is around their waist/body area NOT their mouths. If it were on their mouth and you’re pulling it, it can surely damage and injury the horse!

To this day, I think the ponies just had the complete wrong aproach to the Yaks! If you want to be friends with them WHY try to imitade them?! Why not show them the things that are special about YOU?! The entire time, they tried to imitade how things ard in Yakyakistan. But obviously they couldn't get it right, becouse they aren't from there! They should have just shown them what is great about Ponyvill instead! Show them who YOU are, don't try becoming a copy of THEM! I was SO glad that Pinkie figured that out in the end! But it made me so frustrated that they didn't figure it out sooner >.

But like Twilight had a really important reason to not show up. She literally had to save all of equestria and probably the world like are they forgetting that she was the one that made it possible to stop nightmare moon?

Most people wouldn't get as violent as the yaks, but I'm pretty sure most people around the world would be upset and insulted if they constantly found cheap imitations of their own culture when they go to visit another country. I'm Hispanic, and if I were to visit say Ireland, I'd want to see Irish culture, not weird tasting piña coladas and empanadillas.

One of the worst eps of Season 5, followed by one of the best eps of the entire show... So for the Yak ep.... yeah no one really liked it, and it is no surprise to find out that behind the scenes, this ep was a mess. They kept trying revisions, different takes, but they just couldn't get a solid story they thought was good, so eventually reached the point of "Okay, we are out of time, just go with the best version we have!" hence why it feels so disjointed as they pretty much had to scrap together the various bits from all the different revisions. I do get what they were going for with the Yaks, it was more.. the whole "We are going to give you authentic Yak food/bedding/whatever" and failing to actually do that, was like telling someone from Mexico you were taking him out for some authentic Mexican cuisine... only to take them to Taco Bell. But yeah.... that ep was a mess, not even getting into the way even for Pinkie Pie... that whole trip makes no sense..... Then we have Amending Fences and..... yeah this ep is just a masterpiece. Building off threads that we didn't even know we needed to go back to, and doing such a great job at showing Twilight's growth since the pilot. Which, more trivia, this was originally going to be episode 100 before someone came up with the idea to do the background pony focused fan love ep, and was kept in the pocket to still be the 100th if the higher ups refused to green light the Slice of Life idea.

Once again, chat doesn't know how to keep comments to themselves. It makes me worry about later episodes this season.

What the ponies were doing were basically cultural appropriation 😂 im on the yaks side 100% 😭

I know im going to get hate for this but Moon dancer allowing Twilight not showing up to completely destroy her relationship with the other girls is all times of ridiculous. Twilight was one friend out of four, who had already proven herself a bad friend, why would you ride your self esteem on her. I feel like id have more empathy for moon if it wasn't for the other girls constantly trying to maintain their friendship with her.

Moondancer may be a clone of season 1 Twilight. But for me the one thing that bugged me most about Moondancer's design was her ridiculously thick bushy eyebrows. Because when I see them I take it as a sign that Moondancer probably doesn't really care too much for her physical appearance. I mean they may say that looks aren't everything, But I'm just saying that most of the female characters in this show don't have eyebrows that bushy. And when I saw that even Moondancer's sister has bushy eyebrows it makes me think that it must run in their family. But when I first saw "Amending Fences" years ago I at first believed that her bushy eyebrows were probably a result of Moondancers shut-in bookworm lifestyle because she didn't have bushy eyebrows as a filly. Anyway, The point I'm trying to make is that for Moondancer an occasional eyebrow waxing or trimming would do her a world of good. And I know it's stupid that I'm making a big deal out of something like eyebrows but I'm just saying that for me personally seeing a female characters with eyebrows like that is just weird.

When "Amending Fences" first aired Moondancer immediately became the fandom's darling, but to be honest the episode has always kind of rubbed me the wrong way. It's understandable that Moondancer was hurt by Twilight missing the party, but it's not fair to hold Twilight responsible for ruining her life. Moondancer had other friends who did attend, and it was her own choice to hold the grudge for so long. Twilight is not responsible for Moondancer's life choices. On top of that, it really did feel like Twilight was seeking reconciliation to make herself feel better rather than for Moondancer's well-being.

I hate the yack episodes and I don’t understand why we have to be friends with them.
