i think Emil was just hired to try and do a life coaching thing i don’t think he knew they were horrible people who hated jen. he said that it was just about money and protected jen in the fight and jen seems cool with him she was only mad about him breaking parole by turning back. so i think he’s still a good guy and the group is still wholesome

@@dphalanx7465 Would have liked to see Abomination on the team, but tbh the problem I have with the Thunderbolts lineup is the same problem I had with Agents of SMASH - a startling lack of versatility and diversity. They're all primarily melee fighters, and with the exception of Ghost, they more or less have the same skillsets. Would have liked to see someone like the Beetle (potentially introduced in Armor Wars or a Spider-Man movie), or Songbird (introduced in s2 of Hawkeye) as aerial/ranged members. I'd have also been happy with someone like Speed Demon or Absorbing Man - even if they are also melee-centric, they do offer some more diversity than half the team essentially being just different flavours of the same drink.

“I wrote in the script that when she sees this big AI machine, it's wearing a little black baseball hat, a classic Kevin Feige-style black baseball hat,” Gao recalls. “When the [visual development team] was showing us different possible sketches of K.E.V.I.N., they were all wearing little hats. No matter what type of robot or machine it was, it was wearing a little black baseball hat on top. [Human] Kevin said, ‘Well, that doesn't make a lick of sense, why would a robot wear a hat?’ I said, ‘That's the part that doesn't make sense to you, Kevin, that is the line of logic that you won't cross, we have you represented as an AI brain that is controlling all of the Marvel Cinematic Universes, but the thing that you can't get past is that it might have a hat on top of the machine?’ And he said, ‘Yeah.’” Eventually, it was proposed that the hat would actually be incorporated into the robot, instead of just sitting on top of the robot’s head. “That was the compromise that we made where now it made logical sense for Kevin and I got to have what looks like a little Kevin hat on this machine,” Gao says with a laugh.

This is quintessential She-Hulk (from the John Byrne run). She literally did this in the comic, got pissed with the ongoing plot, broke the 4th wall and tore through a few panels and confronted writer/artist John Byrne himself...this was beautiful to see...and I don't give a damn what the critics say.

This. While initially I was loving the fourth wall breaks because they were like the comic (and as said, very different to Deadpool's), some of them didn't have that John Byrne 'spark' to them (the ones where she starts doing exposition to us while the scene behind her ignores what she's doing). I felt those got too heavy handed (not meaning the strength of the wall break, but rather the tone). All the breaks this episode though were just pure John Byrne inspired. from the 70s intro, through Jen shooing off the narrator, to the final literal panel busting escape/invasion. Genius

It could be viewed either way, that Emil knew or didn’t know. He could still want to save Jennifer while at the same time wanting to help motivate them knowing what they are doing. And, Emil does talk about the Abomination in 3rd person earlier on, this could have been the abomination doing it. It’s something I think the writers just didn’t think much about I think. Similar to that wrecking crew dude being at Emils, and Jennifer never asks (or he doesn’t bring it up) hey why did you guys attack me with Asgardian construction weapons? Jen legally can’t turn into Hulk. The blood subplot. Why did Titania and others showed up in both endings. And I think that’s the message the writers were getting at, these plots we built up, besides Jen herself, in the end most of them don’t matter at all. It doesn’t matter if Emil knew or not. It’s about Jen’s personal story. And hey while I didn’t like the show, I respect them for at least taking a swing and throwing out most of the side plots they were building up. And it seems this approach worked for those who liked it. And that’s a great thing. And hey I’d probably be far more positive on this show if I watched it with friends. Seems like it be far better group experience. But those are just my takes & opinions.
@galonski64

@@FanBoyBooks why does everyone want Jen to ask a bunch of random guys why they attack a random person. They saw it as easy. What they did get was the she hulk. That what Jen saw. @FanBoyBooks
@FanBoyBooks Жыл бұрын
@@galonski64 TL;DR warning ! #1 I just said these are my takes & opinions. Now I don’t know about everyone you are talking about. But was I talking about She Hulk asking random guys…. Or the guy, Dirk the Wrecker, who she recognized as one of the Wrecking Crew at the Retreat, Got Outraged, and then became friends with? If I wasn’t clear in my original post, that is who I was talking about, I am sorry for your confusion that’s on me. But…. Randoms guys why they attack a random person? Do you mean why would She-Hulk, who meets one of her attackers at a retreat and gets angry (deservedly so), but never thinks to ask this one person, hey why did you guys jump me for no apparent reason while I was all Hulked out? Or the guy, now friends with She-Hulk wouldn’t think to say… hey you know there’s a group out looking for your blood? Think about it: Why would She-Hulk think four criminals would steal Asgardian weapons and use them to beat up a regular woman even though her identity is public? Could they have? Yeah it’s possible, but it’s odd at the very least. They 100% could, but She-Hulk is Far Far smarter of character than many seem to treat her like. She is extremely smart. And while Dirk isn’t the smartest person, poor guy lol, show built up a friendship between the two and Dirk 100% knew about the blood subplot. He simply never told his friend he was hired to steal her blood.. every time they met or try to contact to tell her. But I have to explain my point of view on this…. To explain my bigger point of view… My take away, which I made sure to say … just my opinion: these subplots don’t matter. That was the point. Okay maybe using the term subplot isn’t fully correct, but it’s basically the entire message of the finale. She-Hulk gets an ending that half doesn’t make sense to her and half doesn’t fully make sense to us the viewers. Breaks the 4th wall to KEVIN… and Creates and new 2nd ending that equally doesn’t make sense. Why? Because it’s the wish fulfillment ending She-Hulk needed. And that’s good for her. Think about it.. She-Hulk warped reality so Daredevil is there for her, against his will and with no idea if he’s in the middle of saving someone. This is what She-Hulk needed in the end. It’s not all these threads, subplots, unanswered questions. She just wanted a happy ending without jerk alpha males ruining it for the rest of us men. And hey I don’t think Matt minded at all (consent would have been nice though). But this was her story. Think about it.. Without making up our own canon… Why did Titania show up both times in the endings? Why was Emil hosting anti She Hulk group? Where did the blood subplot go to actually (literally as in, where is the blood now and what was the plan for it?)? Why is She-Hulk in public entering a court in the end, if it’s illegal for her to turn into She-Hulk? I could go on, I won’t torture ppl anymore with my ramblings lol. And again allll of this is just my opinion, take on it, analysis. I hope you have a great day/night!

got it right here for you from the Director Gao herself “I think I probably wrote like, 20 versions of a finale that went all over the place and I started feeling like, ‘Well, this is a Marvel show, I better give them the classic Marvel ending,’” Gao continues. “Big villain fight, big finale. But it never felt right because I was trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.” It was the real-life Kevin, Kevin Feige, who helped Gao realize that maybe She-Hulk didn’t need the big villain battle ending. After a talk, Feige “really opened my mind to the idea that it's OK to not do that because I was trying to do what I thought was the Marvel expectation of what the show had to be. He was like, ‘Why? No one's telling you to do that, you don't have to do that, you can do something completely different, we should be doing something completely different because this show is so different from anything that Marvel has done.’ It was getting that permission from him that really made me think, ‘Oh.’ It just changed everything.”

13:38 actually, this whole ultra-meta 4th wall break of Jen confronting her 'creators' deal, goes all the way to the John Bryne 'Sensational She-Hulk' series from the late 1980s/early 1990s. There were MULTIPLE occasions where Jen would move the scene along by punching her way through art boxes, and even act like she going to jump out of the page and yell at Bryne for innocuous, silly storytelling on his part.

You're so spot on that they're making stuff that isn't for everyone now. Like I LOVE Multiverse of Madness, but I understand it's not for everyone. And anyway I think it's the right direction for Marvel to go. Be more niche. They're still gonna get more eyes and make more money than anyone.

I am oddly reminded of the original Monkey Island where at one point Threepwood falls off a cliff and the game reverts to the load menu... at which point you fumble for the mouse and swear because you haven't saved in ages because these games *never* kill you... and then the load menu disappears, Threepwood flies back up from screen bottom, lands back at the top of the cliff and says "Rubber tree..." Total fakeout. That of course and She Hulk in the comic breaking out of Dr Bong's deathtrap by sneaking through a used comic mart ad...

I watched the finale earlier and this thought suddenly hit me; this show is structured the same way a “best of” or highlight KZfaq video is structured. I just suddenly felt like I was watching a TLDR of the actual She Hulk show. I was enjoying everything I was seeing, but because how many episodes we get and how short they are themselves, we don’t spend enough time on anything to truly feel satisfied and it made me so sad. I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would (She Hulk is not normally my thing) and I wanted to see so much more, so the sadness was from me being disappointed that there wasn’t more. This show is literally a series of TLDRs for what should have been longer episodes. I really hope it gets a season 2 and they address that. I wanna see more lawyer stuff and I wanna see more of her and Matt being goofy together (it is so nice seeing him be happy). I just want more of all of it.

This guy gets it. Yes, there were shortcomings, (but in no way did it deserve all the hate-dom). Like you, I think they were mostly in regards to the depth/length of the presentation, not the product itself. It was a show that needed more time to show itself off.

@@dphalanx7465 right? There were so many good ideas but we never spent enough time on any of it to truly feel like it was fleshed out. With the episodes being so short and with so few, you really need to hit a pinpoint and it felt like they weren’t sure which point to hit, or like they were trying to hit too many points. More episodes, longer episodes please. I wanna see her do more lawyer stuff, fun or serious. Her supporting cast was great, more of them too. More time, give us more time with everything.

He doesn't mind turning himself in because he knows he won't be in prison long. My observation about Jen's scene with K.E.V.I.N., is that the way it delivered its lines, actually sounded like that's Kevin Feige speaking, as if he's the one who wrote his dialogue. I LOVE this style of humor and how it can point out its own flaws and everything. Some people love Andor and hate She-Hulk and I'm the opposite despite being a nerd for both, just because I like things to be unique and entertaining and having humor and Easter Eggs to keep me interested. By the way, I really expected Todd to be a Red Hulk because Marvel has drastically changed things before so I wouldn't have been surprised.😅 Unfortunately the subtitles made it clear Kevin was a robot because it said K.E.V.I.N instead of just Kevin.
