Thank you!!! Ailee doesn't get nearly the attention she deserves. She has always been a solo artist, never in a group. She was born in Colorado and raised in New Jersey. She is bi-lingual and got her start as a KZfaq singer way back in the day, but she continues to create content often playing games with her friends on KZfaq. I don't understand Korean, but I laugh til my jaw aches....she's got a great personality!! She left the States and became a superstar, powerhouse vocalist in Korea....she is my favorite female soloist. She does do English covers....is well known for her renditions of 'I Will Always Love You' and 'Georgia on My Mind'. She often collabs with her Korean friends...like Henry Lau and rapper Youngi. She has an 'unplugged' series and has done several features for Disney. I hope you will continue to explore her catalog.

Ailee became famous for her power vocals after appearing on a TV audition. When you go to a Korean karaoke, women often sing Ailee's songs. I recommend a K-pop band called Onewe. It's the Mamamoo Brother group. This is a band that came out under the same project as Oneus. Currently, two people are in military service, but they will become a whole group early next year!

I discovered her on Immortal Song 2 back in 2014. This little girl with an amazing, powerful voice doing these unbelievably well-done arrangements of iconic Korean songs. She really doesn't get the attention she deserves. Her OST work is stellar, but her solo work just never seemed to resonate with me. It is lovely to see her again and I think you will enjoy discovering her work. Check out her live or Immortal Song 2 performances if you can.

Same! I love her performance for " Spring Rain" on Immortal Song. It's so beautiful. I do like her discography too but I also have to be honest and say that all the drama soundtracks sang by her are absolutely amazing ❤

Ailee and Hyolyn were “rivals” back in the 2nd gen kpop days. Ofc, they were actual friends in real life with no drama but everyone would love to see them both go toe to toe with one another since they are both Vocals Divas. I love them both!!

To all the commentators saying that she's underrated, stop projecting your definition of what's recognizable cos she IS famous in Korea even though she has lost some of that lustre due to her refusal to renew her contract which doesn't make her any less popular.

Hi! I rarely comment on videos but I absolutely love Ailee even from before she debuted and seeing how much you came to love her voice, I wanted to give you a few recommendations and also say thank you for appreciating this lovely powervocal!!! Understand from many comments prior to mine that they have recommended you to check out her Immortal Songs discography. That without a doubt is a place where you can find lots of live vocal videos of her. You can also check out her Live collabs with Gummy(another amazing solo artist): "Jealous", cover of Exo's "Growl", and "Call My Name". Her collab with Sleeq(a rapper) "Dont cry for me". Collab with Henry, cover songs "Peaches" & "Rolling in the Deep". Her cover of "Leave the Door open". These are some of the songs people dont really mention? But really good to check out and listen to! Do continue to support this absolutely amazing lady!! ✨️

This song was dedicated to her fans during Covid. She's someone who is used to being close with her fans and personally communicating with them. She wasn't able to make her end year national tour. She couldn't directly hug her fans or shake hands as she's used to do. She said that this song should comfort both of us, Ailee and her Aileeans👽, during that time.

since it's coming up to Christmas you might want to check out "Solo Christmas" live performance, a collab with Wheein from Mamamoo and/or "Sweater" MV (She has an english and korean version. I liked the english one more) which isn't well known, but sounds amazing.

Could i recommend listening to love in the ice in mixnine? Mixnine was a survival show with trainees competing to join 1 group in the end. This specific stage had some of the most strong and soulful vocalists and i would love of you gave it a try!

I didn't mean she is old... her voice is like that of many of the older singers from the 90s 2000s. Its a way of singing. You know how ppl say "he's got an old soul" .. that's what I meant with her voice... 😊 mature... and style wise not like many singers today.

I never care much about skill and/or technique. It is something to brag about but it does not make ppl like you. If a voice touches me then it is good no matter what skill level they are on... . Dimash is considered a technically and skill-wise very perfect singer.... but I could care less about him because his voice annoys me like crazy. On the other hand I love listening to Kurt Cobain who is technically one of the worst singers ever but he touched me (and hundreds of millions of other ppl) somehow and I "felt" it.... Ailee managed to "touch" me with her voice and that is really good.... I can't even listen to the all time praised Beyonce or Whitney Housten .... both world class singers but their voices make me feel nothing. On Wendy's Killing voice where she covered that W.Housten song "I have nothing" ... it was way better than Whitney ever sang it because Wendy made me feel the song.

It's true that technical ability is not everything. Some people can objectively assess the skill levels of singers (like vocal coaches) but they get annoying when they get too pedantic about it and miss the essence of a singer's vocal uniqueness. Like I've seen stans argue that IU is not the best singer because she's not a belter, but she has a delicate singing style and beautiful phrasing which is why her songs are so touching. I also love Wendy! By the way, if you also explore Chinese pop, I hope to see your reaction to Gloria Tang (or G.E.M.). She's from Hong Kong and took part in the Chinese singing competition 'I Am A Singer' in China. She won 2nd place and gained immense fame.
