Taeyeon was born on March 9th, 1989, so she's 34 years old right now. 2004 - the start of her discography. Her vocal teacher featured her on his album in a track "You Bring Me Joy" and she was a very decent singer at 15 already. 2007 - she debuted with Girls' Generation (aka SNSD). 2008 - her first solo OSTs were released and they were chart hits, so she got popular solo before her group really blew up in 2009. 2012 - Girl's Generation-TTS trio debuted with some of the group's best vocalists, including Taeyeon. 2015 - her official solo debut as an artist TAEYEON. 2018 - Girl's Generation-Oh!GG quintet debut 2022 - GOT the Beat debut (SM Entertainment's "supergroup" with chosen members of SNSD, Red Velvet, aespa and a soloist BoA) So as you can see, she debuted quite a few times and all those things were happening in parallel. Girls' Generation are still a group that Taeyeon is still the leader and main vocalist of. She's also a leader of GOT the Beat. Almost all members of SNSD have solo music out, although most of them are more famous as actresses nowadays. And of course her music is in all kinds of playlists. IU and Taeyeon are 2 biggest soloists in Korea. They are everywhere. I love this Killing Voice set but it doesn't truly showcase the kind of power Taeyeon has a performer. I feel that her performances with a live band is where she shines the most. That would be her solo concerts ('S Concert performances are all over KZfaq for example). She also took part in a show "Begin Again 3" where her and a bunch of other artists from Korea were busking on the streets of Berlin and Amsterdam. Those performances are nice as well. Personal preference obviously, but for me TAEYEON has the best discography among kpop artists.

Omg Taeyeon!!!!! She released her 1st mini album after 9 years of group projects. Before that she had some osts and it's all hits songs with classic K-ballad vibes. Taeyeon is the most insistent singer I know and she keeps challenging herself for 16 years. She is someone who is always on the spotlight but very shy on the spotlight lol. A low key singer but also a selfless leader who is not afraid to speak up when needed. Over past 16 years she shows different sides of her to us, cute on shows, mature on radios, perfection on stage, etc... My one and only K-pop idol!!! 💕💜🩵

Girls' Generation never broke up and they're still basically a group but the members are more focused on their respective fields. Some are focused on acting, musicals and solo careers as well. Taeyeon officially debuted as a solo artist on 2015 but she has always released solo OSTs and have been collaborating with other singers ever since. But Girls' Generation is still going strong until today, as a matter of fact they had a comeback album with song called "Forever 1" as the title track in August of last year to celebrate their 15th anniversary. And I just wanted to say that eventhough she introduced "Happy" as a happy song, there's a really sad story behind that song. That song was supposed to be released on her birthday, March 9th on 2020, she wanted to release it as a gift to her fans and to console people during the pandemic but her father unfortunately passed away on her birthday due to a sudden cardiac arrest.

Keep reacting to her musics than you will know how good her voice is. You will definitely be her fan after listens to her.

it’s never too late to start getting into Taeyeon!! alot of what i wanted to say has been said by other commenters already, like stuff about SNSD, GOT The Beat, etc. so i’ll just add on a couple of my personal favourites/recommendations: • Taeyeon’s song Fine, look for videos of her concert version, the part where she sings acapella. i watched it live during her concert and i literally cried, it was so good 🥹 • Into The Unknown (Frozen 2) korean version, it’s on the official Disney korea youtube channel. i can’t think of any other kpop idol who can pull off Elsa better than Taeyeon she really has such an amazing discography that if i continued suggesting more i’d never stop haha. Taeyeon can pull off so many different genres/styles that there’s always something for every mood or any taste. it’s really so nice seeing a new fan start falling for Taeyeon’s voice! she’s truly one of my all time favourite idols, along with Wendy from Red Velvet. watching Taeyeon sing live literally changed my life, it’s still the best concert experience i’ve ever had :’)

She dont act, solely focusing on singing and very RARE to appear in variety shows and very picky with cf which she always accepted the offers that suit her taste and style yet she's one of the top singer and is respected by many both fan and general public when she's in her 16th years and from 2nd gen where not many from the generation still thrive hard on top like her solely in singing now. And not to say she's barely promoted by her agency but she's their biggest digital contributor. Girls Generation is not "broken up". Several members have left the company, but their legendary status has left them basically immune to any kind of real "disbandment", they simply can choose to get together and do things when and where they please (Both SM and the girls new companies all immediately put out statements stating this to make sure the masses didn't riot). The 5 members who did remain at SM Entertainment (including Taeyeon) were simply deemed to be a subgroup called Oh!GG to ensure the message that they weren't split up was even more cemented. Case in point, they released a new album last year in 2022, 5 years after the members all chose to focus on solo activities. Even during those 5 years they've continually worked with each other, sometimes being a cameo in an MV, appearing on TV together, or doing KZfaq content together. As for Taeyeon, she had already been releasing solo albums even before that "split" of sorts.

Girls' Generation is still together. Some members are no longer with SM Entertainment but they can be and still part of Girls' Generation. They just had a come back. She had her solo while still part of GG in 2015. She held off on solo debut until first contract was over with SM. When some GG members left obviously it does make it harder to do activities as all of them have busy individual careers. Taeyeon is probably one of the most recognized and celebrated and awarded vocal soloists in SK.
