There was a comment that said Chloe is a product of her time and I would agree…the whole IG model vibe. Her sexiness comes off as cringe because it does appear/feel like she is trying too hard, and I think that’s why nothing is sticking. There are women out there who are so goofy and silly and that’s where their sex appeal lies, and she strikes me as that type of young woman….and the fact that she can sing, write and produce on top of being beautiful and stacked is hella dope. So it leads one to think why does her current image/project come off so cheap feeling/gimmicky? That’s why ppl may feel it’s inauthentic, all over the place, and that she’s trying too hard. I feel Chloe doesn’t realize she exudes sensuality/sexuality naturally and once she learns how to harness that I think she’s going to be great.

It’s clear that Chloe is battling image issues right in the public eye, but it’s ultimately impacting her “brand” and how people receive the music. It’s sad that her music is struggling because she is very talented. But when I think of an artist that I see as a blueprint for balancing femininity, sexiness, yet cool and relatable, Aaliyah did it best. The music was mature, but it didn’t overpower who she was. Regardless of all the other issues she had behind the scenes with Robert, she appeared relaxed at all times. She was attractive to men and women wanted to be her home girl… I know times are different now, but it would benefit her to have a mentor that’s an OG in the music business… they would not allow this “image-overhaul” to happen to Chloe

I LOVE Chloe! And her album was really good! The issue is, She doesn’t connect with her audience and Vice versa because People don’t know who she is. They aren’t buying into the image she’s put out there. I agree, that she has to grow in front of the world because if she did it behind the scenes and popped out as THIS, the result would be the same. I think we should allow grace to her and respect the process. But you also can’t please everyone. I think she should’ve taken the Rihanna route. The Miley Cyrus route. The Taylor Swift route. Slowly transition into the sound and look you want. But you can’t just JUMP into an image after people have gotten used to who you were in the group. That’s why she would have to show the growth in front of the world. Unfortunately people don’t like change. They want to be eased into it. If you just jump into something else, people won’t understand it and it turns people off. And I think that’s what happened here. But I DO love Chloe and I’m still rooting for her. Because she’s one of the few PERFORMERS who can actually dance, sing, write and produce.

Exactly. Let's not forget she went viral off of the Buss It Challenge. Columbia seen the praise she got off of that and tried to capitalize off of it by marketing and pushing her as this sex symbol. So her record label is partly responsible but ultimately she is responsible. You have to put your foot down in the industry, know who you are, and have boundaries on what you will or won't do. Or these people in power will put you on a path you may not have seen or intended for yourself. To me Chloe is someone growing into her womanhood and there's nothing wrong with that, but there is a way to do so with taste. Chloe and Halle has a true gift from God. They ‘re voices in harmony is phenomenal and they play instruments. I’ve watched them when no one knew who they were as babies in KZfaq. It came from me arguing about how music was gimmicky and soul less not being classical. So I was called a “hater.” Even though I have a history documented in archives of my family being musical. I have two uncles who have a degree in the musical art.. one was a composer at Wash University with an orchestra. Another one make jazz music from his head playing piano. My brother has music videos as a rapper that’s from 10 years ago before the shooting and demonic drastically occurred as of today. Chloe is not into her skin, Chloe is not in this jezebel spirit that came from colorism that she can be a mixture of things from portraying different ethnic backgrounds to cross-over. That’s why it seemed forced. Chloe is not from the generation where men was color- struck on lit-skin complexion. So Chloe don’t have this entity in here to strip her ego as what Oprah said a”madam” to men fantasy. Chloe is with this ethnic culture that’s not exotic but regal. So, she had to sing Beyoncé’s songs while I was looking for new real music that came from the artist experience they wanted to share and not copied nor bought to rush their career. So I found them as well as a another true musical artist named H.E.R. When I found H.E.R. I literally cried tears of joy cause her music came from her signature self. When I saw her on tiny desk, I insanely spoke on it Argumentative on gossip sites, basically any comment section on how music last leg is held by H.E.R. Being herself. Then I mentioned Chloe and Halle while people was in aweee, Hypnotize of starstruck with other or artist. People didn’t pAy any like narn attention. So mentioned older artist like goapele Activism music and background still it was like…crickets. Then I let the brainwashing continue while I appreciated these new and old artist I’ve discovered that was soulful. Until, I look up and then Chloe and Halle was signed by someone with an album called “unholy” I’m like is this some kind of retribution from my knowledge of music from my blood lineage. I’m like no way this not that serious. I’m just a nobody that commented faithfully on how music has changed and therefore it’s not any attention for me as a threat to anyone in the industry. Especially whoever manage them but NOW it’s starting to look like they may have been given advice that’s not in their favor. I don’t know but my discernment doing my journey has given me the best messages while everyone being pessimistic on comparing artist. Music doesn’t suppose to divide it suppose to bring us TOGETHER.

I would say that ChloexHalle did not really make mainstream sounding music (in Black spaces) until their first album, but they started to gain more casual fans while performing that album. They were considered “good girls” and probably had more alternative r&b fans as well as younger fans (who couldn’t pay for the music). Chloe has gained a lot of popularity due to her looks and maturing body. But she is extremely talented and I hope that she is able to find a balance where she doesn’t have to rely on a sexy image.

Sexy doesn’t have to mean wearing overly suggestive clothes or doing overtly sexual movements and gestures in your music. Some artists or regular people are comfortable with this and it looks like it comes to them naturally and that’s fine. I find artists like Sade sexy and sensual and it’s just effortless and natural for her because I think she stays in a lane that shows her sex appeal that’s comfortable to her. And it shows! I think more artists need to find their own way of conveying sex appeal that isn’t so forced. I think Chloe, just like many young ladies, is still finding herself, and she should be given the grace to do so without all the judgement. Chloe has been like this as a performer since she was young. It's clear y'all never actually supported Chloe x Halle or you'd know that. On youtube, Chloe x Halle were more reserved because that's who they are off stage. But on stage, this is very much who Chloe has always been. Except she was a literally child and couldn't be as overt. So yea, y'all are creating a version of Chloe that never existed. She's not uncomfortable being sexual

Yeeeeaaaaa I’m SO glad Melissa was there to add an actual woman’s opinion. I feel like she came into this a younger girl and now she’s turning into a woman. She wants to feel sexy and express that part of herself right now. I feel like that’s a natural maturation not necessarily a forced industry change. (Not saying that doesn’t happen) I just kno what it feels like to progress from girlhood to womanhood. Js

What trips me out about the 40 year old hip hop demographic is that they never gave a fuck about ChloexHalle and never listened to their music outside of maybe Do It. They don't give a fuck about Chloe's music because it doesn't appeal to them, as expected. So why even try to tackle a topic of "what went wrong" with her first week sales and try to pin it on her grown ass decision to express her sexiness? And who gives a fuck if it's forced to people who don't believe it and aren't trying to receive it in the first place? She's headlining a sold out tour performing in the same venues as artists who sold 30-50k their first week this past year. That's where she is making her real money...from shows, not streams. They won't speak on that though.

I'm so glad somebody said this!! Thank you!! My view of it is all of these people that are talkin bad about Chloe but saying that she's so talented where were these people when Chloe and Halle first two projects dropped? No one boosted their sales then but have everything in the world to say now? Please Chloe will and is just fine.

@@arielmcfadden644 They weren't around because they didn't care. Their most commercial album was Ths Ungodly Hour and most of them didn't even listen to that. It only sold 20k its first week and still isn't even certified gold. The only things that they knew about them up until a few years ago were Do It and The Little Mermaid. Thet weren't even being posted in blogs. Tbh, they didn't even start getting posted until the Verizon performance and that was because people were gagging over Chloe's stage presence. They loved her extraness then. Then they really started getting talked about more when they made their individual pages and it was moreso because people gravitated to Chloe, but Chloe committed the ultimate crime of flaunting her body too much as a grown ass woman I guess. How dare she make grown men, who only followed her page because of her looks, uncomfortable by showing too much of her body?
