In real life, he was loyal until late in their marriage. He saw a beautiful woman, desired her, slept with her, and Empress Dugu had her killed. He broke his promise in real life and in the drama. Then he wanted to be self-righteous about it.

He is just like the majority of them....when you are young they all wants you, some would go so far as to lies to your face to get you committed to them, after being married to,,,,time goes by,,,,,they turned back into their true self, can't conceal their deceitful heart anymore.....when the woman is getting on with their age, these bastard turns to younger ones for consolation not to their loving wife. They're forgetting 1 thing,,,,they are just as old as you are, they can't handle younger ones or it would shorten their life span for having to resort to too much viagra with old fashioned formulas which would ended up making them incompetent in the long run.

This Emperor and his wife are the only couple who were faithful towards one another and that Emperor did not have any other women. The Emperor's wife had 10 children by him. This is only drama and not real history.

Have a heart! The issue is people always finding someone to blame and playing the victim. Take responsibility for your issues and projections. She always doubted him and he had always proven he was trustworthy. Yes he fucked up and made a huge mistake, too much misunderstandings and disconnect is between them. I can't imagine her pain and suffering from the betrayal but he too is in pain and suffering.

Yes, I got mad too, most females, (no matter what age) goes thru hurt, betrayal, lots of pain & tears. But it makes us stronger, not so easy to fool us unless you're dumb. Listen to your heart.
