Michelle takes us on a tour of her gorgeous Tiny Container Home, which is located in a Tiny House Village in Tennessee. As a single parent, she always struggled with finances. So when she became and empty-nester, it was time for her to downsize and finally achieve financial freedom. She now lives happily surrounded by others living a similar lifestyle.

I'm so happy to see the pressing weight of single motherhood and high expenses finally taken off of her shoulders. What a beautiful lady, inside and out. She just glowed when she showed us her house! Hopefully you can one day upgrade to a larger kitchen sink - 😂 and you'll have the perfect home!

This is one of the most well done tiny homes I have seen. From layout to the furnishings and outdoor space. The use of a pantry and tv stand that are not deep contribute to the feeling of space. As does the patio off the living room. Michele has done a fabulous job making it a 'home'.

The Rent, Price of the Container Home, Water and Electric are phenomenal!!!! Everywhere else is so very Expensive. I’d love to have the same peace of mind she has. But I can’t leave my Family in Texas. 💕🙏🏼

Canada really needs to get on board with these type of communities, instead of consistently obstructing them. Right now, the only available places beyond owning land, are conventional trailer parks where the rent is $1100+utils in any given metro area. Or private land where rent is still "market evaluated". It is not like the USA, or Randy's communities.

We need tiny home communities in New Zealand, too. Lots of people are homeless, and houses are a $1000000 cost. Rates are too high. And the city councils have so many ridiculous rules about tiny houses. E.g. a WOF and rego required as if it's a vehicle. And not being able to live in it all year round. Even if it is on YOUR OWN LAND. As long the tiny home is built to a safe standard and there is provision for utilities and dealing with waste effectively, tiny home communities could be a positive solution to an urgent problem.

The US is unique in that each state has its own laws, zoning, etc. Most states haven't allowed tiny home communities until fairly recently. Even then, it comes down to counties within the states, which have their own laws, too. People have to do their research, and do it well.

I've not been keen on container homes as they feel like a metal box but Ive changed my mind now,this is a lovely home.The wood on the outside & the porches make it look more like your typical tiny home, I particularly love the porches & the fact it is big enough to have the bedroom on the ground floor. So glad she no longer has money worries too.Hope she has a long & enjoyable life in this beautiful home

This Tiny is one of my very favorites! It is just so well-thought out and it's so cozy. And the bedroom on the ground floor is just perfect. We have a really hard time climbing stairs now. Besides, I like the fact that she can stand up in the bedroom too!

I remember Randy & Amanda first recording of this home was not of good quality, I remember Michelle's container home being moved to its permanent spot. WOW Michelle you have done an incredible job in making this container home so welcoming and cozy. The decision to have sheet rock walls really did make this narrow home look so much wider. I loved the upper smaller windows oppose to going overboard with the bigger windows. The landscaping/side porch and special decorating ideas of yours is outstanding. You sweet lady should be so proud of your achievement, I'm so happy for you!!

When you mentioned people saying you have less stuff, Well what you said it is true you have plenty. I think many Americans have way more than they need. Many Americans have rooms in their houses they do not even sit in. Plus as we get older in life less to have to maintain is better. You have a lovely lovely home.

Aww Perfect! It’s a beautiful home and smart design! Luv the dry riverbed! I’m a mother of 2 adults. They were 5 & 7 when their Dad and I divorced almost 23 years ago. I understand. I never remarried. 🤷🏻‍♀️ My THOW is done and to be delivered here to Illinois next week! I’m so excited! My builder is in NE Michigan and this week’s Winter weather for us both has rescheduled the delivery a couple of times. It’s in His hands! I just wanted to hug her when she cried, money has always been a struggle for us raising kids as well. I was amazed at how nice a container house could be, I think they may be warmer than tiny houses when I was listening to her and I love that because I am always cold. She did a great job of designing it to fit her needs and as I get older (my husband has dementia) I know I will have to downsize too and her home gave me so many great ideas. I am happy that she can own her home with no mortgage and gets to work from home.

The beginning of this video, where the emotional toll from the financial struggles to raise your family clearly showed, made me burst into tears and text my mother. I finally understand why she chose to move so far away, to a remote place where she could buy a small house outright. I understood the numbers, but couldn't wrap my head around why she would trade family for it. Now I do. I can't thank you enough for that. You have a beautiful home. Jenna, this is not only a beautifully designed container home, but the Owner is a very special lady. She has raised 2 children, on her own, and gave them a safe space to grow up in. How selfless of her. Now, she is entitled to live her dream. She should be extremely proud of her accomplishments. Being a senior citizen, myself, living in Ontario, Canada, caring for my disabled husband, of 55+ years, this is a lifestyle I can only dream of. Hat's off for bringing this tour to us, and thank you.❤

I am South African. I am a registered nurse. I was a single mum of three. I can’t tell you how I identify with you. I worked 60-70 hours a week and I also ran a home based chocolate business. When I was 45, my children were 21, 17 and 9. I was so exhausted and I was in the process of losing my house and I knew I couldn’t do it for much longer. I took a job in the Netherlands for a year, leaving my children in the home with my niece and her partner. My sisters and mum kept an eye. It was the only way I knew, to save myself and my children. I sent most of my money back home. A year later I returned to south Africa. I got a job in Australia and took my youngest child, leaving my two oldest to finish their university degrees. I am now a dual citizen in Australia. My three children 43, 40 and 31 are educated, self sufficient and well. I married an Australian. My youngest son bought us a beautiful brand new house and we use our savings to travel. What I want to tell you is that your sacrifices are not in vain. It has made you stronger and you have an inner peace. I wish you well as you continue this journey.
