This presented as a journey. It starts with the soft plead of uncertainty highlighting a lack of confidence. Then the mood all changed to a cry of anguish and determination. Finally, after all the hard work comes tremendous acclamation and success. Unbelievable and brilliant. A deconstruction of Eminem's incredible artistry reassembled and made better. 🤩

I've never liked rap-crap. But this rendition gave me a new found respect for Eminem's writing skill.

Mate u don't need to like it (rap). It's hit and miss, but there is no doubt eminem in his prime had the genius with him. That said, kasey killed this.

This is AMAZING!! I'm an Aussie country music fan and I have never, ever seen Kasey on the Banjo and singing like this!! She is a million percent getting ever better and better with age! I LOVE her! Also, I feel like there needs to be MOAR BANJO in rap songs, hell yeah! hahaha! Ok, maybe not, but this is legit awesome!

great reaction Lexi. Loved how Kasey slowly told Eminem's story of his early life...then hit with the emotion of it all and finally the frustrations and anger came through. She did Eminem proud by allowing us to really understand his words...
@lexisaucedo9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! Her deep understanding of the lyrics and her ability to convey the raw emotions and frustrations in Eminem's work really did justice to his storytelling. It's a testament to her skill as a reactor and her respect for the art of storytelling in music.

How does no-one ever notice that Kasey wrote the tune for this version, the original is a great work of art that stands for itself but it doesn't have any melody to speak of, it has beat and cadence but no tune that I can detect. I think that gives Kasey's achievement even more weight.
@youngstunna87629 ай бұрын
No tune? What do u mean
@lexisaucedo9 ай бұрын
You bring up an excellent point! Kasey's ability to infuse a beautiful melody into this version truly showcases her songwriting talent. While the original may be a work of art in its own right with its unique beat and cadence, Kasey's contribution of a memorable melody adds a whole new dimension to the song! 👏

Kasey commands your attention from the first time she opens her mouth. Her voice is reminiscent of the powerful vocals of Melanie and Janis Joplin and her on-stage presence and emotion is certainly made possible because of those vocals. She has had a long and successful career in Australia, and her band members include her dad on slide guitar and brother on main guitar and backing vocals.
@Pezzabelle10 ай бұрын
It’s her dad on slide, but not her brother on lead - that is Brandon Dodd.

I'm with you, in that I love this version rather than the original. So much emotion and goosebump moments. There is only one other cover I love more than the original, and that is Disturbed cover of Sound of Silence. Both are brilliant in delivery in a emotional stage.

Actually, pretty sure it was John who wrote and intended it to be a slow tune. Record executives said there were too many slow songs on the album, and wanted a fast tune.
