My husband and I had a very large collection of the Dickens Village with people and accessories. We also had the North Pole Village with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, sleigh, and eight reindeer. When my husband passed over nine years ago, I sold the Dickens Village, but kept the North Pole village. This unit has brought back so many happy memories. Thank you for sharing it.

Happy Mother's Day Amber!! The large dark brown item that Jebus said "belongs in a cemetary" is actually a candle holder for probably a 4" dia. candle. And the longer bunch of yarn, if you're curious, is called a "skein" The balls of yarn are just that, balls and if you come across ones that look braided, they're called a "hank" 😉

I thought it was maybe the base for a birdbath! The little carved wooden disks could be used as ornaments, but they look like cookie stamps or Springerle molds to me.

I've tried whatnot but unfortunately if you don't have a big social following you don't get people to come to your live auction. I've had a few auctions and had great items as well and advertised a week early but still hardly anyone came. It's not as easy for anyone without a social following.

You're right! I had 400 skeins of yarn from a storage unit. One of my friends hopped on to one of my shows when I had only just taken and showed about 15 skeins, because I didn't have the room for everything else yet. Anyway, he said he'd buy it all from me, and I sold it all for $2 a skein, and threw in any smaller balls free. He paid shipping, but I refunded him that in cash, and he and his wife came to pick it up, and paid $800 for it overall. I know I could have sold it in smaller lots, by color, by yarn type, etc, but he's my husband's childhood friend, and he's a friend I'd trust my life with after knowing him for 25 years, and his lovely wife for the past 10...

George Wythe was an important figure - he was in the Continental Congress, signed the Declaration of Independence, and later attended the Constitutional Convention and was on the committee for rules and procedures. He had to leave the convention early, but later he was a delegate in the Virginia ratifying convention, and helped push through ratification in Virginia, which was one of the key states. He also tried to get rid of slavery in Virginia in the 1780s, but the climate of opinion was not favorable. They could have saved themselves a lot of trouble if they had listened to him.

The Longaberger basket in the last video is an umbrella holder and no longer being made since old man Longaberger died and his kids liquidated it... the big basket office building he built sits empty in Frazeysburg on state route 16 and it is so sad that it isnt being utilized for anything...

35:45 that is a large candle holder for a pillar candle... The small indention on the top gives it away, there was probably a set of them at one time, they would be used to flank large things like a fireplace or something like it

The "old" bottle with the silver top. The top probably has holes in it, you would fill the bottle with water, put the top on it and use it to sprinkle clothes that are wrinkled and you are ironing them. Sprinkle with water, iron and wrinkles are gone.

You could donate the yarn to a knitting group for the hospital. Lots of groups knit beanies etc for the neonatal unit. Might be a nice Mother’s Day gift for some new mums. PS happy Mother’s Day Amber

That first old bottle, on the bottom after you moved the shelf; has a sprinkler cork in it. Back in the day they filled it with water, and “sprinkled’ their clothed , the day before ironing them. Rolled them up. Put them in a basket, covered it. Ironed them the next day. Both my granny and my mom did it. Had to be 50 plus years ago. I’d like the sprinkler cork..
