This channel represents, in my opinion, the pinnacle of fire alarm content. You've got field work, hobby systems, and everything in between. I really like this particular type of video because this is the kind of stuff that we the viewers might be able to do on our own; maybe not on a full-on Notifier panel, but perhaps a conventional Honeywell Vista security and fire panel. I don't have a house right now and it'll be many years before I do, but this is the kind of stuff that I dream of doing. Keep it up!

Nic don't listen to those people who are asking why are you putting a commercial system in your home. They just want to say mean things should not be said. But they're going to be said. So don't let those stupid comments get to you. After all there's are many reasons why people need commercial fire alarm systems in their homes. And there's many reasons why they should not have them in their homes. So for the haters that don't like these videos stop watching them Because we don't need that behavior here on KZfaq. Bullies are not welcome here at all. Nic deserves love and respect like everyone else in this world. So Nic keep the good work up. Your doing great. P.S. Nic could you please do a special video on heat detectors. A lot of us never heard of them and want more details on them

But I was thinking while putting the pull station up what would I need to do if I actually made a real one. So this is cool! Ur so talented… if firefighting doesn’t work out I wanna get into what you do…! But this video is great. Haven’t even finished it. But this is still cool! One of my favourite videos. @@nics-systems-electric Its cool to see that your putting systems and devices in real situations following real standards. I have not seen too many others on KZfaq doing both these things. Its neat to see a bunch of devices slapped on a demo board or randomly stuffed in a building but even cooler to see realistic systems and proper methods for installation as if the buildings needed to follow the rules. You can't always show everything in the field doing your job so your home is a great way to provide the educational aspect on the systems. Keep up the great work.

@@nics-systems-electric I understand. Was just a random thought considering there was many flammable objects and sprinklers do give a more immediate suppression response especially when no one is home. But yeah, you would have to tear a bunch of stuff up and mess with ur house’s main plumbing to make that work. Plus, I’m not sure the shed is properly insulated and could lead to the sprinkler system freezing up.

HI Nick you seem to understand alot about engineering do you have any proposed ideas for my strange diy project if you don't know soorry to bother you but thought I would ask : HI got a strange diy hose repair question can you find me a solution ? My hose is 1/2 inch but at the end need to add a 3/8 barb any proposed ideas for how to find remedy?

I believe they do make a barb adaptor fitting for PEX I'm not sure if they make something similar for hoes or if you could make something up that would adapt it maybe you could use a pex fitting on hose I've never tried not meant for it but might work

thank you I am in the U.S it seems the best idea I could come up with at the moment was I ordered a 1/2 inch to 3/8 reducer barb so If found that it would seem the answer is attach a 3/8 pvc and if I am using this as some type of garden hose or something one you have the right size hose you clamp on the barbed nozzle tip it looks like we have found a solution of course maybe I bet be sure I still need that thing as one part I would need for it cost about 100.00 ( I would rather not say what I am doing but I have a highly specialized project if can afford it which I dont know if I will be able to but its nice to know there should be a theoretical solution thank you ) !!!!

@@CAT40key let me clarify: what is the stick that fire alarm inspectors use that fake smoke comes out?
@nics-systems-electric
@nics-systems-electric 3 ай бұрын
Usually there is a pole with a detector tester that has a can of fake smoke in it gets released once pressed against the ceiling and is contained in the head of the tester over top of the smoke detector purpose is to functionally test the detector
