We break down the total cost of our building from start to current. We all share the property, Jared lives in this house by himself. Jason & Jaylena are in the planning stages of building their tiny house on the property.

Screw the haters!!!! I bought a 14 x 20 from Derksen already ready to live in for $13,000 they make a great shed. All I did was paint the exterior, put it on my land, paid for a septic system and electric to house. Water well was already on site. Total cost without any landscaping around $22,000. I've been here for a little over 2 years. 1 more year and it will be paid off and I don't have to worry about a mortgage. Just pay utilities and taxes and I'm good. I love my tiny home and can't see myself moving into anything bigger. Great job on your shed to home.

@@j3ssmari371 Check into all the rules and regulations on where you're going to put the shed/home. Some places are a-holes about it and will tell you no outright or make it very difficult for you. They will fine you for nonsense stuff on a daily basis to get you to stop and make your daily life hell until you either build a traditional home or move elsewhere.

@@jgjg3848 Absolutely! I have over 30 acres and, over 2 years ago, camped out in a tent, I realized it was not safe. I bought a 12x24, not to live in, but to camp in. There are so many variances with regards to building codes, snow loads etc. Do your due diligence and protect your wallet! Don't just go buy a shed and think you can have power, water etc and they will run it for you.

Wow lucky you. How long ago was it and what state you're living in to get such a deal on your material. For example your countertops, aren't they 2 by 12. But 2 by 12 by 12 here in Louisiana at Lowe's or Stein's either one cost us more than $80. Not counting the taxes. The windows 2.0* 4.0 equals $180 without the taxes. Prices are extremely expensive here in Louisiana! The tiny house which is the utility cheaper than a cabin Style same footage Rangers 15000. Surely you are blessed to have no more money and that house and want to do. We can't do that here!
@fayee8986
@fayee8986 Жыл бұрын
I also would like to add, 16 by 36 utility only Drive-In! L windows, the only door that comes with it as a standard double. For 15,000 now that's delivered with no cinder blocks, no porch no steps! Everything here as far as material and labor is very expensive in Louisiana! What state are you from that you can get your supplies so reasonable?

We bought a house, but are living below our means. It saved our tail when my husband became very, very ill and we could barely work for about 8 months while he went through treatment. We're both 28 and I'm so happy we didn't bite off more than we could chew when we bought our house. We've got some debt now on a credit card and the house, but we didn't have anything repoed or go into foreclosure. It's much better than most people fare when dealing with a major illness!

Place looks great ! I don't know what type of person could complain about this build. Place is fantastic ! You boys did a damn fine job ! Me and my family are looking to do the same thing ! I'll be recording our process too, from start to finish and by my calculations about 30k is what the finished home will cost. We're not made of money either ! But I'll tell you what, our house will speak to our nature, just like yours does your nature. And to hell with anyone who doesn't like it ! Finding the right property is the toughest job of the process I think ! We will use a real wood burning stove and LP backup for cook top & on demand hot water. I've done the math 5 different ways from keeping it simple, to making it lavish. In my eyes.... It's about function, not fashion ! But it has to feel like home ! I'll keep you posted !

What a beautiful place! Your giving us lots of ideas. Our place is smaller a 16x32. We are thinking of adding on to a back room or possibly buying another shed and butting them up together. For sure we are adding a porch. We got a lot of stuff from habitat for humanity. Plumbing is more of a challenge. But my husband is an electrician. Right now we compost. And just have the heat on demand camping unit. Now I am known for being a huge thrifter. So I ordered a faucet online that has a built in heat on demand. It’s from China. Lol. But it can be adjusted to fit our needs. Just love what you did with your place. You are so smart. We are older. Started older but being able to have a paid for property is huge now days. I had to retire at 47. I know it sounds unbelievable but I have psoriatic arthritis mutants. It’s the worst type of arthritis very destructive only 3% of the population have it. But that being said. I was up against a wall. We had to figure our a way to have a paid for home quickly. As we knew my income from working had ended and you fight for disability but it only a small fraction of what I earned in a salary. when I got so sick I prayed that I would figure out a way to survive and be able to give my family a home. That prayer was some answered by people just like you showing that it can be done. Our search began and we bought direct from a man who worked with us and it was don’t through an attorney. So we have clear title. Now our taxes on our 12 acres is under $200. A year. That’s it. I can sell eggs and pay that each year. Anyone can do this. If I can there is no excuse. I might not be able to work on it. But I can cheer my husband on and help out where I can on my good days. I only hope our place looks half as good as your. I do have a lot of faith in my husband s carpentry skills. He’s pretty good. But at the end of the day a shed home is beautiful no matter the finishes. Especially because it feels like home. Be proud of your accomplishments. And keep spreading the word. Shed homes are awesome! God bless, Leslye

@@TheCrockers So, that was you! I blamed the dog again! lol I am starting to place my order for my she'd. I'm going for a 12x20. For myself. I'll be doing some of the work myself(and others)but I'm going to have to get the walls, insulation, wiring ect. already done. Pretty much all the messy hard stuff will be done when delivered. Winter is a good time to get great sales on Amish built sheds/tiny homes on greatly reduced prices. Thanks for some great ideas! Please keep up the great work!

We rehabbed a mid '90's doublewide. There had never been a mortgage on the place because it had been purchased used with cash from a small inheritance. Added porches, deck, 4 car covered parking, etc. It's not perfect, or ever finished. But, it's ours and it's freedom.

Ok, the belch was priceless. But I love your videos because you itemize the costs and give a total for everything you had to do to make your shed a home. It used to be that tiny homes were the rage but as soon as builders realized they had a market, costs for tiny homes went stupid crazy! You have just as nice a home as anyone of those folks with a tiny house.

I spent under 8 thousand to build a 10x20 lofted shed. Been living in it for 3 years now. In reality it all depends on how cheaply you can find the materials you need. I bought everything I could online as used or repurposed materials. If you have the time and are willing to shop around for the best deals, you can definitely do it very inexpensively. I love my tiny house. Yours is incredible also!

I just discovered this week about shed to homes. Got so excited i started to investigate these homes because we will be moving to Nevada in 2 years after my husband retires. I have been binge watching your videos and they are so helpful. U give detailed info, i loved the Tuff Shedd, Winslow and Berksen comparison tour, helped narrow down the choices. We are looking to buy 2 sheds to convert for our daughters who are moving to Nevada with us. Thank u guys so much and keep up the wonderful content🤗🤗

Great Job! You guys are great looking, too. So much hot water on that gorgeous skin might dry out the natural oils. I shower with warm, almost hot in special areas and then when I am ready to get out of shower, I turn the water to almost cold and go back over my whole body. I do the same when I shampoo my hair. I believe that tightens or closes the pores and preserves your natural body oils. We females have to worry about aging skin.

Doing it by credit card is a great way to do it, bc if something happens, you can declare Chapt 13 Bankruptcy to protect the property. The credit card companies never even show up for the first court hearing to file a claim against their unsecured debt, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act applies, all calls to collect stop. You have no Secured debt which means the property cannot be sold by the court, as it can in a 7. (Mortgages & Helocs are secured debt). In a 13 the court prepares a payment plan, the payment to your vehicle and/or a percentage of what you owe (based on who makes a claim) and credit card companies rarely ever do. Credit cards are a very safe way to prevent foreclosure. As far as credit score, once you have your property and finish the bky, you get tons of offers for more credit cards. BKy doesn't sound good, but it's better than being at the mercy of a foreclosure mill.
