Sheep, goats and dogs enjoying their new farm setting. With the addition of the goats to our sheep flock, we had to change our entrance holes to our cafeteria gravity flow guardian dog feeder. The goats learned how to crawl under the dog feeder entrance. With our new design, the dogs have to crawl through a plywood hole at 24" high to get into the feeder. So far it seems to be working well with keeping the goats out of the dog feed.

I’ve been keeping goats for three years now, and I’ve learned to never use the phrase. “I doubt they will do that” because then they will definitely do that. You can never be too sure of whata goat will do. They are magicians.

Our dogs love a good pet, having them tamed a little sure makes handling them easier. It is a bonded relationship, they know their job, and mine as well. We love our dogs!

Without our dogs, we would not be able to raise sheep or goats!

That hole in a board idea is genius. Your friend Integrety Ranch has a great channel. My regular Greg Judy style feeder has been working like a charm (no goats) thanks for that Greg!!

We bought some rams from Shaun. I'll have to ask if he has goats with no horns as i think horned ones might get caught in some of our fencing

Less than a week ago I had a woman who raises goats tell me that you cannot put goats and sheep together due to the copper issue. She might want to watch this.😊

Yeah she is a bit misinformed. Our friend at Integrity Ranch has been grazing both sheep and goats together for years with no issues.

You can't feed sheep grain with copper added but Greg doesn't grain his so that's not an issue

I dont blame you for neutering the dogs. Sounds like good reasoning, and something Im definitely going to consider. I just dont like the word fixed 😇bc we arent fixing them were breaking them ... ik im weird, just one of those strange things rattling around in my mind

Thanks for the video! I hope you do get rain very soon. It’s been raining off and on for a couple days. It’s going to get colder next week. High in 40s lows in 20s. Big change for sure. I was wondering how to do feeders like that. Our dogs won’t go underneath the fence to get food.

We finally got some rain yesterday and it is raining now. Thankful for it! Supposed to get down into the 20’s next week, that will definitely slow down the grass growth or possibly end it for 2023.

1.75" since Tuesday night here in NW Macon County. Did you split your big group of sheep up an put these on a new farm? What type of water pipe did the boys run there, then do you just blow that out once it starts to get to cold? Thanks

Using HDPE 3/4" pipe. It does not need to be blown out when it freezes.

Do you have shelter for the goats? I’d like to get goats however having to have shelter for them in hilly terrain wouldn’t be possible

No shelters for the goat. We do however have large cedar trees in most of our paddocks.

What is the YT Channel of the person you got the goats from? I am interested in the dog feeder design. I have a small herd of goats and sheep and I just got puppies that I want to use as guard dogs.
