Nice recovery from that thrashing at the end of the long blow. They sure pick the worst times to start fighting!

If my sheep were this clean I think I would go a lot faster. I have to stop and clean the combs and cutters between most sheep. Probably only one in ten is clean enough that I could go straight to another sheep. We are in Georgia, USA and I think the heat and moisture are the problem. I use a Topaz usually. Is there a better comb for this kind of sheep?

Stop and clean both combs and cutters or just the back of your comb? Are the sheep with sand in them? Usually heat and moisture is a good thing when it combs to shearing.

@@shearingschool I clean the comb and cutter both. It's lanoline and it forms a gunk that fills up the spaces in the comb and coats the cutter. No sand at all.

What is the weight of the sheep before shearing and after shearing ?

These sheep are around 60 kg. Probably a couple of kg wool will come off.
