It is the Solar Eclipse of April 8th 2024 in Brooklyn NY, and we will be walking in the neighborhoods of Sheepshead Bay, Manhattan Beach and Brighton Beach during the event. This walk will take us through the coastal neighborhoods of Brooklyn starting just after 2:30pm and up until 90% totality at 3:25pm. The walks starts bright, but as we continue the walk, the skies will darken a bit. Not complete darkness, but enough to notice.
This walk will be just like our traditional walks on the channel - no deviation. We will start in Sheepshead Bay, walking on Bedford Avenue until we get to the marina. After the marina, we will make our way to the Manhattan Beach, while looking at some of the nicest homes on the walk. We will get onto the beach, and check out the people watching the event and the amazing skies during peak totality. We will then wrap up the walk in the Brighton Beach neighborhood as the skies brighten up again.
There will be times to stop and look at the different shades of blue skies as eclipse totality creeps in. Since everyone else is filming or photographing the Moon and Sun, I wanted to show a different perspective. I wanted to see the people and the places while the event unfolds.
