As someone who installs these machines and trains techs how to use these machines I was cringing on shops 2 and 3. Both the Ford dealer and 3rd shop with the TCR need some training! Both were clamping in the wheel center (at least one taped it to “protect” it) when you can SEE the proper FLANGE PLATE mount HANGING ON THE MACHINE!!! You never clamp a CF wheel in the center bore, only with a flange plate! Shop 1 was actually the least stressful to watch, that guy knew what he was doing and had proper protection on the tire bar. I’m just amazed they are using that old machine.

That's so awesome thanks for the info. I'm looking at getting a set of expensive BC Forged wheels for my 04 Cobra and I've always been stuck on where to take them to get put on once I have them. Now I can ask around for which tire shops have this machine or not

This is so relevant today with regards to Z07 and Speed Phenom. By way Carbon Revolution stock is .12 cents and just got more OEM contracts and a 60 million dollar loan. No stock advice but I bought 2500 shares! Ha! With the ERay coming out and GM other products, I smell victory. What do you think of Speed Phenom experience? If that old local boy can afford such a versatile machine it is clear the dealerships can or they just f’d it up. Carbon Revolution has a video on how to Mount tires and appears to say no special equipment is needed. Training perhaps. In Speed Phenom’s case the dealership obviously screwed up not Chevy. Flying Cloud. Still enjoying GT 500. Had a dealer offer me 90k. Not bad as more than MSRP! Still in my garage however.

I don’t know if I can emotionally handle this. I might wuss out and just settle for the forged aluminum. At least I can sleep at night when the tread recedes.

Need to find a shop with a CORGHI LEVERLESS machine.

Lol discount tire lifted my work van straight on the floor pan and my rear rocker panels, not from the frame. They rolled the rocker panels inward, and pushed the floor boards up. My insurance company had to fight them to repair it.

The wheel and tire package is a no brained with these cars

Just wondering when you bought the car, did the dealer offer the tire and wheel insurance?

Shelbyflyer can u please help me as I know u are smart on these cars we just bought a 21 gt500 on the highway at almost anyspeed the steering wheel has a lil shimmy to it I mean just a small like left to right if u take ur hands off if u hold it u fill nothing is this normal and is it cause of the wide soft tires it’s a reg not a track pack thanks for any help

That is a lot of pressure to put on a auto tech.

All these high dollar machine but bad operator. The 1st guy put metal pry bar on the bead lol. I change tire carbon Rim with old china tire machine. With motorcycle lip protection and plastic duckhead and with skill techniques.
