On Tuesday there was a funeral for a fallen Police Woman in my area. Going between the place where the funeral was held and the cemetery there was a several miles long possession of vehicles. When the possession entered the interstate immediately trucks on the other side began pulling off the roadway with many actually getting out and standing facing the possession. What was really nice was when the trucks decided to block all 3 lanes to force the rude people continuing to pass by at 70 mph to stop and show respect to the fallen hero. A big shoutout to the truckers for their show of respect!!!

Love your videos. On your videos you often say “for new drivers” or if you’re looking to get into trucking. I think you should do a driving video for 9 hours to give people what it’s like to drive 10+ hours a day and see what OTR trucking is all about. @@bmacd2112 I was the 48th driver to enter Iraq in 2003 hauling JP8, Never hauled fuel before. I was told the day before to go outside the base to fill up my tank at the fuel farm. I broke down right outside the gate. So recovery came told me they will take care of everything and go get some sleep. Next morning came, I looked at my fuel gauge and it was full. So we rolled into Iraq and low behold, I hook my static line, I hook up my fuel hose, climb up on top of the tank and it was empty. So therefore my handle was Emptywagon. They told me I am lucky, because just the previous week a guy hauled water to a fuel farm. His handle was made then. haha!!!

Within my first few months of driving I did something similar. I was in Texas and was told to get an empty about 80 miles out, turn around and backtrack to load because the place I was at didn’t have any empty’s. I did the 160 mile round trip with the trailer I was told to get, and when I made it back the guard doing the trl inspection asked me why I had four pallets of tiles in the nose. Long story short I had to do the 160 mile round trip AGAIN to get an ACTUAL empty, and had to wait out the weekend since I missed my original Friday appointment. They tried to take the excess miles out of my pay but I fought it considering the company told me the load was a drop hook when it wasn’t, and had me pick up a trailer with stuff already on it by accident..

Yeah that’s pretty much how it is in most terminals right now peak season sucks it’s good that we’re busy but the problem is a lot of the loads get given to the outside carriers then you have a lot of Fed ex teams who run wild sitting around all the time because there’s no loads to give them.. I agree the new contactless check in/dispatch really sucks I run a dedicated from Arcadia to Portland but we park our truck in Rialto so we always check in at Rialto for a load to Arcadia but the problem is Rialto has a really hard time responding to text messages don’t even get me started on that LOL glad you made it safe Shelby hopefully one day we bump into each other in Portland stay safe keep on Truckin✌🏼

OMG Rule #1 when driving teams: Don't make noise. No talking on the phone unless it's business essentials, no radio, no loud headphones. Do all your business outside. Rule#2: Don't use full throttle when bobtailing or empty. Rule#3: Stop the truck every 4 hours and let your co-driver know you're going to stop. Don't drive into the boonies where there's no washroom without at least stopping and letting your guy in the bunk get a pee in.

Ha your team mate must hate you.... Shit i dont stop for the first time until i have about 20 minutes left on my 8 hour... take 30 and roll again. Dont use full throttle shit... mash that stuff to the floor but i guess using these simple things is why me and my team mate make Sacramento Ca to Perth Amboy NJ in 2 days run to flint grab our other load and make it back to sac all in 4.5 days and clear 2500 each a week... But we run hard and play hard.

Thank you for explaining why you left your truck at the 7-Eleven fuel island while you went to get food. I was thinking that was really inconsiderate and I know you are not an inconsiderate person so I was a little confused. Thanks for clearing that up! And thanks for another great video!

Hey Shelby - the wind is ALWAYS blowing in Wyoming! In fact, I once heard of a driver who, after going from Wyoming into Montana, stepped out of his truck and fell down because he was leaning into a wind that wasn't there! Be careful out there and stay safe. Love you much! 💖💖💖

Male drivers grow beards. Female drivers have messy buns. I've more than once got out of the bunk, walk threw a store, looked in the mirror while washing my hands, laugh, and think "welp, are you living life to the fullest." I love the sunrises and sunsets I've been able to see on the road. Thank you.

Know how you feel. I took a load from the ups regional hub in Salt lake to the old ups building that is off of the 201 and redwood, just to find out they had me take the completely wrong trailer. The trailer I took was a new jersey load. So had to go back and get the right one. Thankfully it was a 10 min drive back to the hub. Classic UPS.

AVR is a mess sometimes. Then you have to double check to make sure your run is even dispatched or arrived. Example: Orlando 328 to Orlando home delivery 3327. Get two empties and head home to Charlotte 282 (make sure you don't get one or two of their 33 foot trailers). A week later they still had me at Orlando 328 because there isn't any routing in the system from 3327 to 282. Not doing local work as a result. Stay safe out there, Shelby..!!

I am on your side. The dispatchers need to be better trained to ask questions pertinent to absolute clarity. I am sorry that whoever took your dolly needs to have their own dolly. More cameras are needed to catch the offenders and make them correctly load your trailer as repayment for their offense.
