I remember being young and not understanding why J. Cole was liked so much. Maybe It's been my life experiences after and actually listening to what he has to say that I truly connected with him and is now 1 out of my 2 favorite rappers along side with Kendrick. Although 2014FHD is my favorite Cole album, mostly because it accompanied me during some times of struggle, 4YEO is amazing in its own right. 4YEO gives me a vibe no other album has given me. I feel like I’m following a plot, then I get hit with the last track and always-I mean every. Single. Time.- I leave with an almost out-of-body experience. Great analysis! Glad you enjoyed the album. It’s beautiful for sure. I’m no artist, but if I were to make an album some day, it’ll have to sound like this.

OK, OK. I will finally subscribe. I’ve been lurking in the back but you really do create good content with thoughtful reactions and appreciation of the music. I love Cole going back to his mixtapes. This album took a min to grow on me being that it was quite different from his other stuff at the time but I love it now and it holds a special place for me since this was the concert I finally got to see him live after missing a few stops including the dollar and a dream ones 🤦🏽‍♀️. I think you should react to Better by Deante Hitchcock. He doesn’t necessarily remind me of Cole though he does seemingly have his co sign having showed up some of the Dreamville projects but he was like the newest rapper I really rocked with after Cole and I kinda came to Cole in the same way after a long lull in rap for me.

Not my personal favourite Cole album in terms of musicality and production but in terms of content it's definitely by far the best Cole has released in my opinion. 4 Your Eyez Only made me cry the first time I heard that song, Neighbours and the context behind the song is so telling of the times we live in and overall just an important project. Awesome reaction Shelby!
