And was also asking why they were even looking for him. So, although I won't say it's her fault but yeah she could've tried to stop him and call her mother quicker.

Someone else also pointed out that when Sheldon left, it didn't take them long to notice. But when Missy left, it took nearly an entire day for them to notice, and they only noticed she was missing because the truck was missing

I can't remember why Sheldon left, but they end up using the Moores code. And Sheldon left a message exactly how he talks with a huge unnecessary explanation which exasperated them as they're decoding it letter my letter. Hope this helped.

He wanted to go see dr strugis after he got used by linkletter to get a date with meemaw. Linkletters bait worked and he wanted to go to it so bad but everyone refused too he called everyone selfish and got grounded for a month. He got pissed and said he was going to see the one person who understood him sturgis whose in the mental hospital. He left the note with missy like this to find him but only when it was to late to stop him.

so when sheldon ran away in I want to say maybe season 3 or so . he wrote a note . and they used Morse code to find him . amd Mary was worried . then In season 6 .when missy runs away. the only way they know she's gone is cause she's not in her room amd the trucks gone so she stole the truck . and didn't even look for a while or care . and when they find her . Mary just yells at her amd grounds her for a longer period of time . its so.annoying how she treats sheldon so much better then her other 2 children . no wonder sheldon grew up being selfish and needy

He ran away after being grounded for a month after he called them selfish for not bringing him to a lecture that he was used as bait to get meemaw on a date. He felt betrayed by everyone and wanted to see the one person who understood him. Missy left afyer a blow up and mary was at meemaws and george was giving her space while checking on her but didnt go in her room.
