Thank you for this demonstration. You have changed my opinion of bokeh, for the better. Yours are soft, believable and enhance the painting. Other videos I have seen used round stencils to lift out color resulting in very distracting polka dots leaving me wondering why anyone would want to do that😊. Thank you for teaching the most effective way.

When the background is so wet why doesn't your circles move

I’m using Arches 100% cotton paper. It’s about timing and paying attention to the wetness of your paper surface, paint and brush. The brush needs to be less wet than the surface. I use paper towel to take some of the excess water/paint out of the brush as I work.
