In the game, there are 19 fishing spots located in Bailu and Niaowu. These spots can be identified by wooden posts marked with a fish symbol. Among these 19 spots, 2 in each area are secret and must be unlocked before you can fish there; these are marked with slanted fishing posts. You must fish at least once in all 19 spots.
To begin, visit either Huang's Tackle in Bailu or Super Tackle, Get River Fish, or Angler Extraordinaire in Niaowu. Press Square to talk to the owner and rent a fishing rod. Then, go to your selected fishing spot and press Square to start fishing. You don’t need to catch any fish and can stop fishing immediately if you prefer. However, you might want to spend some time fishing to work towards the Gold Angler Extraordinaire.
The fishing spots you’ve already visited will be retained in New Game+. However, you will need to unlock the secret fishing areas again if you wish to fish there.
