@@soulsemblance3163 I'd say compared to the book it's like a 6 or 7. But really, very few adaptations nowadays do Sherlock Holmes the way he is in the books. He's not a misanthrope, or a brawler, or rude. In the books he's actually quite gentlemanly when interacting with others. I think BBC Sherlock is more similar in the sense that book Sherlock feels boredom when there's no good case and indulges in cocaine to ease that boredom, but again he's quite polite in the books.

Seriously. What genius direction and screen-writing, acting and PACING, etc. This scene may just gloss over as a part of the movie, but from start to finish, it was a masterpiece of film making. To be quite honest, the entire movie was golden. My only gripe was the second movie introducing Moriarty as the straight up in-the-face problem and then even putting end to him so quickly. That should not have happened. There are so many stories to work with and they could have been mixed together to create a legendary tale as well-noted as the Marvel movies. Where Pirates of the Caribbean strung the 4th and 5th movies with no relationship, and the 1st itself was just an intro, Sherlock Holmes could have been a well-tied series.

I particularly like that Dredger seems to really appreciate Sherlock is a challenge and even nods like “Ok, I see you, Mr. Holmes” when he blocks his second attempt to grab him. A respect among foes

I love it when Sherlock fights. I also love it when he speaks French. A kick back to his French grandmother Vernet (or is that great-grandmother), not sure. I've been trying to map out Sherlock's family tree. It's actually quite interesting.

I love how entertainingly chaotic the combat is in these movies sometimes without losing their significance. It feels realistic, too, at least to a degree. Not everybody knows martial arts. Sometimes it’s about ending it as fast or properly as you can.

Sherlock Holmes is a true genius. He saw them holding gas and some other stuff and figured they were going to burn the place down. Truly an astonishing conclusion I’m deeply baffled

@RS3D140 Essentially the music from this scene is a variation on a country riff known as "Blackberry Blossom" in a sincopated scale. You can look it up and see a banjo player playing pretty much the same tune under "Mean Mary"

one of the greatest films - the second was still quite good with little disappointment - too bad Ritchie is not in on the 3rd and Downey Jr was not more committed - could have been multiple excellent films from this group - still the one I prefer from all others - great plot - great acting - great dialogue - great humour - great film - period
