From the “You Learn Something New Every Day” file. That trick with the toothpick for applying superglue was a new one for me. Great idea.
@TheInnerNerd
@TheInnerNerd 3 жыл бұрын
Yes this was a new one on me at the time of filming. For even more precise application you can also use a piece of solder wire and dip that into the superglue for tiny amounts. If you see my later videos I do that there. Thanks for watching :)

I make a small tear drop loop in my solder wire for a more precise application or a split in the tip of the cocktail stick seems to work 0pretty well

Thank you! I don't seem to get the same credit as some of the other channels on here which is a shame because I put a lot of time an effort into both capturing good footage and making the videos enjoyable. However I am very grateful for the views and comments I receive. I realise that a following of over 40k is still quite substantial and I appreciate people like and enjoy the work I put in. Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoyed the video. More coming soon :)

@@TheInnerNerd That is true, however, I noticed that your channel name would be a problem for some. What do you think? :) Edit: Maybe changing the profile photo for any model related image thing would be a good idea!
@TheInnerNerd
@TheInnerNerd 4 жыл бұрын
Yes I can see that too since it doesn’t mention anything to do with a plastic model anywhere... To be honest when I started the channel I never thought it would get this big, so for me the name dint have to be limited to just modelling. But here we are with almost 45k subscribers and I’m a little stuck 😂 A total rebrand would be social media suicide I think as the branding that I have now is the one in which the majority of my followers recognise (it was different to this before I hit about 5,000 subs) so not sure if people would understand it’s still me. I will look into changing the name to The Inner Nerd Scale Modelling though so it’s a more descriptive. A mouthful yes but as text would make more sense. The logo is a difficult one. I chose this one since that is actually my silhouette inside the rings - therefore by definition, The Inner. Also the colours are the RAF roundel. I am British and make mainly aircraft models so relating this back to my home countries’ airforce ties in the logo nicely. Simple aircraft illustrations have been done by almost all the other channels so I feel that would be just falling into line with the norm and not really stand out. Plus I’d have to limit myself to my favourite aircraft, which is impossible because I don’t just have one 😂. One of the concept design I made was of several but on such a small screen like a phone, you couldn’t see the details and the logo looked incredibly messy. Rebranding is tough and something you don’t get a second chance at. But I understand that it could help non-subscribers understand what the channel is. It’s tricky. *If anyone reading this has any suggestions for a logo I’d be happy to hear, who knows, you might even inspire the next one!* 🙂😎

@@TheInnerNerd the logo is a fantastic idea! Do not change it, the name as with others it doesn't neccesarily have to say something about scale modelling just see Martin Kovac's channel called "Night Shift" it doesn't sound like something about modelism. Probably you need to revise your youtube settings to see how youtube is showing your channel, for example as an arts & crafts or else, this is very important and last join other channels there are a lot of good modellers that do group or tema projects, reviews, ect. and combine your channel with FB and Instagram as many modellers can find through these forums too. All in all your channel is great! Keep it going!

Excellent work. The whitewash is very well done. It’s easy to overdo that effect. If you want another armor mode to consider building I would recommend the Ryefield Models T-34/122. It’s a very unusual vehicle. The kit itself is of the best quality. It has the fit and simplicity of a Tamiya kit and the detail of a Takom. The photoetch is a tad tricky, however.
