This video explains my process in the building, painting and weathering of Tamiya Panther G tank in 1/35 scale model kit by The Inner Nerd. scale model kit. I start the video by building the scale model kit using Tamiya and AK Interactive glues and Mr Hobby tools. The key to building the Tamiya Panther G tank in 1/35 scale model kit by The Inner Nerd. model kit is to carefully read the instructions and assemble, using the tutorial as a guide. Take care in assembling the scale model kit so the the parts fit accurately and align as intended, this is the easiest way of speeding up the build.
To paint the Tamiya Panther G tank in 1/35 scale model kit by The Inner Nerd. model kit it is best to use an airbrush. This video is designed to cover the airbrush basics so that you can see the thinning of paint and application onto the scale model kit. Harder & Steenbeck Evolution Silverline is used in this video along with AK Interactive Real Colors, Tamiya Acrylics, Mr Hobby Lacquer and Alclad II Metal effect Lacquers. Thinning paint is very important so I will explain how to do that using the correct thinners for each paint type.
Decals are applied with the aid of Tamiya Mark Fit Strong. This is a much more intense product than Micro Sol an Set solution and helps conform even the thickest decals onto the Tamiya Panther G tank in 1/35 scale model kit by The Inner Nerd. model kit details.
The final part is the weathering using more AK Interactive weathering products as well as artists oil paints from Winsor & Newton and Abteilung 502, weathering washes from AMMO by MIG Jimenez and finally VMS Pigments. I start the weathering process using an enamel wash to bring out the panel lines on the scale model kit. Here I use oil washes from AMMO. To seal those in I use a clear acrylic coat from VMS Matte varnish. Further and more detailed weathering follows using artist oil paints which enable me to add streaks, grime and bleaching onto the model to give it a more aged, used and weathered effect. The VMS matte clearcoat varnish is airbrushed onto the Tamiya Panther G tank in 1/35 scale model kit by The Inner Nerd. This matte varnish will help the weathering process as the matte finish allows more oil paint to stain the model surface. Dust and mud weathering effects are created using VMS pigments to imitate the weathering on tyres and undercarriage/landing gear.
Final assembly of the Tamiya Panther G tank in 1/35 scale model kit by The Inner Nerd is completed using VMS super glue. All of the final small parts and lights are added onto the model kit to complete the model build.

Hey modelling gang! The moment I've all been waiting for... A welcome back to me and thank you for joining me again. It’s been a year and a half so far with the move but I’m getting back to the new workbench over the winter period and have plenty of models in the stash including some new releases from Kinetic and a HUGE 1/32 Mosquito from HKM 🤤. So welcome back and I hope you enjoy the video. The Inner Nerd

It's funny, way back in high school I was considered a 'jock', because I raced motocross at the time. But my indoor passion was reading scifi/fantasy, and my beloved military models. Local hobby shop at the time was owned by Vietnam veterans, kits were wall to wall, floor to ceiling. Long before internet, you could go in, touch stuff, talk to people, and go home with a kit. My fellow partner in crime was an aircraft nut, I liked vehicles. After graduation he was a marine A6 mechanic, I went the other green on a Lance crew. Always had an unhealthy addiction to Airfix.....

I'm very glad your back! Ive been thinking of getting back into armor and take a break from airplanes but, these kits cost so much . Plus. Individual track links and tiny photoetch parts are why i quit building armor years ago. Maybe i should do what you did and stick with the old tamiya kits.
@TheInnerNerd
@TheInnerNerd 8 ай бұрын
Thank you! I find armour is a nice break from aircraft which can be restrictive in some ways. Also building out of the box I find a nice rest to the superfine detailing and research needed to scratch build kits. These old Tamiya kits are always a good option in my opinion to bring some simple fun back to the hobby. Best of luck and thanks for watching :)

Hello and welcome. I've heard the revell 109 is a tricky one so might not be the best choice to start with. I'd choose something cheap, small and simple to test out your skills first.
