I’m an American 58 year old man. I met Shaolin Master Li Min Chin when I was 15 years old. I grew up section 8 housing, projects, food stamps, welfare, evictions. I was a bitter angry destructive young man. With rage beyond words. The chance meeting a shaolin master in Southern California and ultimately he took me in, I lived in our school in the San Fernando valley. The 7 animals, monkey was my calling. Fast forward 43 years later I’ve forgotten almost all the forms but I never lost the life lessons. Shaolin saved my life. I could talk forever but I’ll end by saying the covid pandemic inspired me to shelter in place and watch more KZfaq. I found this great man and I’m inspired again. I’m in the Bay Area and for the first time ever I took my 4 year old son to a Shaolin school. I’m going to sign him up next week and maybe I’ll join soon after. Thank you :)

Thank you so much Mulligan Brothers for bringing this most beautiful wise man to my attention. I think I can say rightly, that he speaks to everyone who is able to hear his wisdom. I have never been wealthy in my life. Until I contoured the anger within me. But after controlling the power of anger and meditation, I have realized I have more wealth than most rich people have. My wealth is what I have become! I truned an empty lot into a very beautiful and spiritual place. I didn't realize all the time and effort I put into my lot has given me something that is worth more than all the money in the world, At 70 years old, I am very heathy, happy and content with my spiritual life. Your words are showing me where to grow my wealth in my heart and soul. Thank you for the words of wisdom.

Very nice. I am a 59 year old man that have failed almost every goal I set out to do in my life to this point. I am now finding myself with the drive to succeed at my current project, the most important goal I've ever made for myself. I have been on a diet for about 5 years, of cold pressed juice (kale, spinach, carrots, and celery), followed by Moringa, and I eat one meal every day with keifer. It has changed my whole world. I don't take any chemicals into my body willingly. No aspirins, or any pharmaceutical. I had been prescribed 180 Vicodin a month for about 8 years, and stopped about 5 years ago. I keep it as simple and near the way our Paleo ancestors ate. I recently started getting back to active, as the last few years has been doing nothing but drinking beer, and smoking a lot, pot, and tobacco. None the less, I feel like I'm 23 years old. I really enjoy listening to you.

Thank you. I 1000% resonated with this message. I'm sure many of us have greatly benefited from this knowledge. Imagine if this is what we learned at school. The skills of life rather than wasting 12 years only learning things that we will forget and never use. While it is important to learn the subjects we do to some degree, the lack of balance is that we are not taught the skills Master Yi was explaining. For example living a life that's chaotic, drinking and cheating or acting on irrational impulses. But rather living a life with balance, structure, discipline, harmony and wisdom. Being aware of self and being of service to others. 🙏 Thank you Master Shi Heng Yi. 🙏 It is your profound wisdom and the way you speak that I feel I can relate to what you are explaining. Thank you 🙏

Great interview many wise advices shared. The biggest thing for me was this idea of Activity vs. Passivity - Ensuring we are improving over time (moving toward our goals) by taking action each day and utilising our 24 hours. And it's important to understand to achieve success, we must completely commit to a structure/schedule which we set ourselves and carry it out regardless of how we feel. If we do so we must surely improve our situations over time. ...And this works towards creating TRUE freedom in our lives (rather than living under the ILLUSION of freedom) because by consistently sticking to our structure, it means our actions are no longer being dictated by what the ["monkey"] mind wants (e.g. to relax all day rather than execute on our schedule/daily plan because it's easier or less uncomfortable), so it no longer holds power of us and we are not a prisoner of the mind, leaving us to be truly FREE to pursue what we deem important to us from a conscious/logical perspective, and not having our behaviour be dictated from a subconscious/emotional place. In this way we are able to regain control over our entire lives, which is in my opinion true power and self-mastery. ...I would also say the idea of practicing emotional stability by training yourself to not be lowered or raised ties in with freedom and sticking to your schedule, because that which your mind wants/thinks about will often come with feelings attached, so I think it's important we level up our ability to observe in real-time through self-awareness the feelings which arise within us, while never REACTING (behaving based on the feeling). Lastly if a high level of success in your chosen field is what your after, sure allow yourself to initially be inspired by others (external) to spark the flame but ultimately keep it burning and growing by competing against yourself only (internal) - striving to be the best YOU can be. PS Listen to your body (feelings), and use it as a tool to guide you to living a balanced/harmonious life! If you are reading this, do not allow such transformative wisdom to be glossed over. Do as Shi Heng Yi advises and APPLY this new knowledge to your life, otherwise no benefits will be gained, which would truly be a shame. Have an amazing year everyone.

Reading the comments I can only say that once you study Kung fu it never leaves you. I went to karate, Judo, tae kwan do, but when I found the circular movements and fluidity of Kung fu I stayed for three years. I can’t say I am fluent in martial sets in fact far from it since forms were my main interest, but feeling and learning about your body, being in such deep contact with you own physical challenges and strengths has never abandoned me. I have found Sifu Shi and everything came back. Thank you! You appeared at the right time, at the right moment. I think that no matter how old I will become I will still try and practice again and keep learning forms, about the world and about myself. My name is Carolina

Ive listened to all the interviews maby 12 times in the past year and seek out what is apparent that i have learned from doing the practices till now. Each time i review iether the practice sessions and interviews many times i can recognise some progresses ive gotten from it all.things like is there a difference in how i relate to people or how they relate to me and many times the answere is....yes.over 90% of it is possative in both cases👍but of course we can't please everyone because some are stuck in thiere sad world and they can't be helped ...so thats just life, can't do the imposable. However...we can if we have the "will" to do it ,help ourselves and some along the way.that too is just life🙃🙂.i continue to practice and study the ways of Shi Heng Yi in Germany and have no reggrets in doing so. Many thanks to Mulligan brothers and of course master Yi👍👍🙏🙏🎅

Thank you for sharing this talk with us. Very mindful & contemplative. Balanced. What is definitely needed in these times of “extremism.”

I’ve been watching many of his interviews, this content is gold. When I was 4 I told my grandparents I wanted to be like walker Texas ranger, 12 years of training in TaeKwonDo was the best thing that could ever happen to me. Now at 31 I wish I never strayed from my martial arts path.

I love listening to this master, I could listen to him 24 hours a day, the message comes through so clear not only on the shaolin art but every day life. Thank you master, from Ontario Canada Ps I see a lot of comments on the master’s voice being soothing and calming, I really have to say it is very true, if you had a rough day or stressed one just listen to master and his voice will calm you ❤️

I love and respect all of his teachings. However I cannot dedicate as much time as I would like to practice the moves. So I believe every day some time is better than no time. However I can practice breathing techniques and calmness every waking moment. Thank you for bringing another beautiful teaching.

How very special to run across this video and this very Wise Elder Brother. Being born and raised in Hawaii, Shoulin teachings, the , Asian traditions establised my inner lifes determinations. Now at 80, it has carried me for 20 yrs when i could no longer put out my exercise energy. It has kept me healthy and well. I still can out work even younger people and the ability to take care of myself. That culture, that training with my Christian belief has sustained me. Im Blessed to know you and stand in agreement with you and your Spirit. BE BLESSED. I was a semi professional cyclist till i was 56, thousand of miles, many many races, tho i lost many races, i won every one cause I finished every race. I never quit. IDAHO (womens )state, and as a Cat 3 U S Nationals champion. 1992/93. Ive had a great life.

Also I wanna convey my deep appreciation and thanks because without the generosity of the Mulligan Brothers and Sifu , I have been a Buddhist for years but without the exposure of the Internet and KZfaq I would have never been exposed to the insights and knowledge that this man possesses so I’m very very appreciative These videos definitely are important I’ve been sharing them with people that I think benefit from them . One day I will see the temple but need to work on my self more.
