To anyone wondering why did it took so long for Shi's 155 snatch to get a down signal, it was because he's feet weren't aligned. You can even hear the coach yelling "foot, foot".

correct me if I am wrong, Shi only came in first in the 2017 Tianjin CNG vs Liao because Liao Hui decided to retire after 2016 (2016 CNG Liao won over Shi). Liao just decided to take a last shot in competition so he came out of retirement one last time. In the 2014 (Lin Qin Feng won i think) and 2015 (Shi won vs Feng Lvdong) CNG, Liao was not present, maybe because of international competitions where his total is far from what Shi made. (2014 Worlds where he set a world record, in 2015 he competed in the IWF Grand Prix) They have a 6 year age gap and Shi is still getting in his peak form but it is hard to compare now because of the increase in bodyweight.

Right now I believe Shi is the most impressive thing to come out of team China in the past two decades (including Lu Xiajun). He can win 90% of competitions in the 81kg class with the body weight of 73kg.

@@dale6420 Liao has one of the highest sinclairs of all time. My impossible dream now is for peak Shi and peak Liao to battle it out since their peak forms elapsed each other to determine who is the best 69kg or 73kg. 73kg Liao Hui snatched 170kg and almost clean and jerk 211kg in the 2015 IWF Grand Prix.

@@SquatJerkJournalist China have always had strong elite level athletes at the lower weight classes, personally I think Tian tao is probably more impressive, regardless of his inconsistency and bomb outs, he is a chinese heavyweight who can lift heavy. He C&J's more than yang zhe and he's a 105 and their total is roughly the same. If there was no Sohrab Moradi he would be king of the 96's.

Clearly not trying to think I know better that them or coaches, but are his feet not a fraction too far apart? The position of the knees to legs when he's in the bottom of the snatch too...
