I would panic, forgive him, beg him not to drive us home, have to walk with him because he was so drunk, then having to take his phone and call somebody to drive his car to their house so he didn’t have access to it was really traumatizing. As someone that has survived over half a decade of brutal physical abused, I feel Shia MUST be held accountable. Animal abuse is actually an early predictor for someone becoming abusive or even worse. It's horrific but not surprising that he committed both things. i know this video was a while back, but truly when i heard what he did to FKA Twigs - who has been a personal idol and a beacon of artistic expression and perserverence to me for years - i was speechless... i wasn't shocked that Shia had done it, not at all really... i was shocked by this feeling i got of "how could it possibly happen to HER, of all the people"... the fact she spoke out about it really validated me as an abuse survivor myself. It told me that if this woman i view as this pillar of strength, my ideal, my role model, could suffer like this? then maybe it wasn't my fault, when i went through my it. That maybe it doesn't matter how "strong" or "independent" you might be. Her speaking out told me that it wasn't my fault. That maybe abusers will do just that, abuse. Maybe I wasn't as broken as I thought I was. Not until it was all over. it was so unhealthy for me to blame myself for what happened. Twigs speaking out gave me a whole new perspective on abuse, one that's helped me be more sympathetic to myself, and by extension, other victims.

Listen, I’m all about hearing both sides of the story. Especially when it comes to celebrities & that industry altogether…. But Shia literally admitted to being a horrible person. People with messed him doing all of this shit & there was a lawsuit filed, meaning that there would be more of a chance that evidence would come out & claims would be backed up… so I don’t understand why he was given a platform & people are even considering giving him a redemption arc because what he’s done is unforgivable & basically proven without a shadow of a doubt.
