This scene is after Shikamaru finds out that Asuma has passed. An incredibly realistic and vivid scene, sort of hurts me in a way. RIP Asuma, #naruto #[60]fps Team 10...

This scene was so different from anything i’ve seen on naruto.. shikamaru’s demeanor changing as his dad speaks to him you can really see his emotions through his body language

For real, this to me is one of the most impressive scenes in Naruto. Some scenes have incredible animation with lack of emotion, others have plenty of emotion but the animation just doesn't take advantage of it. This right here was when emotion, context, and animation were all beautifully in sync.

Shikamaru's dad is a pure veteran as well. He probably lost friends and other people since his time were filled with a lot more conflicts. So, taking that into account, the scene makes a lot more sense and holds more tension.

I know how it feels to hold your tears for so long, and lying to yourself that it's all fine and that nothing is wrong. but then you understand you just have to admit that's something is wrong, and that you feel bad. And when that happens, you begin to cry like a baby and you realize you just can't stop crying. And while you crying you keep asking yourself what the hell is wrong with you and why it doesn't stop. That's why this scene hits me so hard, it's just like this. Tears has so much meaning, only person who experienced it himself can understand

I didn't cry at this scene, but it did leave an impression. Because.... I know that's EXACTLY how I'm gonna react if someone close to me dies. Blank face, dead eyes, wants to be alone all time, not eat and give me some space rather than grieving with others. And if someone tries to talk to me (esp completely different way than I prefer to be approached) , I'll lash out. Yup, "LET IT ALL OUT" , that's all it will take to break down.. So relatable.. Kinda understand now why we have the same personality type.

Look at their hand movements while moving shogi pieces. Then the gradually increasing pace of the moves of their pieces. Then the sudden outburt of anger from shikamaru. And ofc the deep meaning in this scene with context. Amazingly done.
