Welcome to a journey through the beautiful landscapes of Shikoku! In this video, we visited three fascinating spots in Kagawa Prefecture.
First, we stopped at the grand torii gate of Negoroji Temple, known as the "Sky Torii." Standing atop a 400-meter-high mountain, this torii gate exudes a mystical atmosphere against a backdrop of magnificent scenery. The sea of clouds in the early morning and the sunset-lit twilight are particularly stunning, captivating all who visit.
Next, we headed to the keep of Marugame Castle, called "Marugame Castle." Built in the early Edo period, this keep is one of the 12 remaining original castles in Japan and is designated as a National Treasure. From the top of the keep, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Marugame City and the Seto Inland Sea, allowing them to appreciate both Japan's history and natural beauty simultaneously.
Finally, we visited Ritsurin Garden, considered one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. Spanning a vast area, this strolling garden from the Edo period offers beautiful scenery throughout the four seasons. The garden features six ponds and 13 artificial hills, characteristic of daimyo gardens, as well as a canal where visitors can take a traditional Japanese boat ride. It's a perfect place to immerse oneself in the beauty of traditional Japanese gardening.
