Why did Orbea reduce the power of the EP8 and label it EP8 RS? Here are my thoughts. !! Sorry about the poor light, one of the lamps died. #EP8 #Orbea #emtb

Yes absolutely, battery max discharge is an issue but the looks on the RISE are awesome. I would also compromise max Nm V/S for that weight and looks......thanks for the review...good work💪

Very nice video about the battery configuration. I just purchased a new flashlight with the 21700 battery by Fenix. The Samsung 50E(10A/5000mah) can't deliver turbo output and the Samsung 40T(30A/4000mah) has the same problem. Only the Fenix 5000mah battery is able to deliver turbo output. So it looks like a 21700 battery in 5000mah is not good to get high current output. I need to google more about possible battery configurations but for sure it looks like they had to custom tune the motor down a bit so the battery is not dying too fast. Very nice looking bike indeed! I think in parallel configuration max discharge current is still the same, only capacity doubles so 10A is still max. I hate Wh numbers because the battery looks like it's just the 10Ah/36V battery configuration. I built my own bike with the 10Ah/48V battery and motor is max about 750W power rated. I can ride about 30 to 50km range on flat road. So I don't see huge problem in here for tuned EP8 RS motor. With mid motor and reduced output it's should be powerful enough to have great ride experience! I see more potential in Specialized system for tuning because it is higher voltage rated but 36V should be enough too. Please people don't think about hacking and buying a bike for hacking. If hacking then buy a higher voltage system and more max wattage rated motors ;-) These bikes are not made for hacks because they are made for enjoyable rides!

Very good and impressive. I fully agree that it is probably max Amp limit. I've measured max Amp on the E8000, and also build my own, light waight, TEC pack for a Focus Jam2 using 26650 Cells, and with the battery temp I reach with that battery pack, I don't think they will last very long☺️

Hey, Have you got any review on the LAPIERRE OVERVOLT 8.6 2021 (high spec of the range)?

Also, the Specialized 1.1 uses 48V which has advantages over the old 36V systems. While I love the looks and parts spec of the Rise, I’ve spent a couple of months on the E7000 and the range wasn’t really better than the E8000. The gauge of the wire inside the motor and the size of permanent magnets are not reduced but throttling the power back on the EP8. It’s not that easy.

What are your feelings on the Levo SL and their battery setup ? I believe they are going with a different voltage as well as a smaller draw on the battery of 7amps max. Would this be more beneficial in terms of efficiency and longevity ?

Hi Looking how to install the speedbox 1.3 on my Orbea rise. Can you help me? TNX

Nice video but there is based in many assumptions. I was divided between buying the Rise or the Wild FS and made my choice on the Rise. At the end of they If I feel I don't have enough range I can add the 252 Watt/hour external battery and that should give me more range than the 700watt/hour battery on a Specialized Levo for instance. I'm an average trail rider used to a Cannondale Scalpel SI and I'm not looking for hard enduro trails and high jumps.Just want a bike to help me ride faster when I'm short in time and at the same time give me a less pain while climbing.

With my orbea rise h15, I do more than double range than my bosch gen1 moterra, 70k, 1000m climb.

Maybe a more powerfull needs also a reinforced (heavier) frame

What happens if the battery in the Orbea is broken or defect? Is there a way to replace this battery?
@jean-yvessimon85634 ай бұрын
if you remove the motor, you can remove, then replace, the battery.

Hi mate so are you saying the battery will fail ?
@jerryx20003 жыл бұрын
there will surely some hack to unlock the motor
@Jcool7213 жыл бұрын
Battery is not able to deliver high current! Hack or not because you should change the battery too.

Not enough power, needs 85nm.

My suspicion is that the de-tuned EP8 has to due with the power-to-weight ratio and battery capacity, just as the Levo SL. No need for a 90nM motor on a 16kG bike with a small downtube battery. But you still have a damn good looking quiet bike with a loud rattling motor :-(
