Shimano TLD 15 rebuild all Bearings + Carbon drag installed

4 жыл бұрынI had this Shimano TLD 15 reel given to me by a friend. The bearings have had it. I decided to do a full rebuild replace all the bearings and upgrade the drag washer to a carbon drag. I hope the video is useful to someone. If you have any questions drop a comment and I will help the best I can.

Awesome video. Helped me out heaps. One of the bearings was ceased. Lubed up all bearings and reassembled with the help of your video. Thanks for that.

Yes I caught a blue shark with it the video is on the channel we did shark fishing through the night

Does the upgrade to the carbon fiber drag washer increase the amount of drag as well, or just performance? Excellent video btw.

I think it increases it a little but makes it a lot smoother but not used it yet hopefully in the next month or so will be going for sharks so will be the perfect test which will be on video And thank you I appreciate your feedback one comment like yours make it worth it So thank you

Great vid... I’ve a tld 15 don’t think it needs new bearings but.. freespoll is fine but apply the leaver drag and the handle becomes stiffer to wind? No bearing grunting like you had.. any advice please. Tight line with the sharks! B

It could be bearings with play etc the one in the reel I had was very bad In your case it could be the handle bearing not the spool bearings Thanks dave

@@C3BFA Well had a little play ... the handle and spool turns fine out of gear but when the leaver drag is applied it starts to stiffen up? The more you apply the stiffer, until it’s almost unable to wind?

Contact the company. That's in the video. It's black dog tackle that's the only place that I know that sells them in the UK
