My R8070 calliper has always had one lazy piston, no amount of bleeding or cleaning has ever fixed it. Tried all methods and finally given up, I’m just getting a new calliper

Curious to know benefits of just swapping out callipers if anyone can advise

I'll be doing this upgrade in a couple of weeks myself. I was going to take it to my LBS but after watching this video, it looks straightforward to do. Questions though. Will the hose come pre-fitted to either the calliper or the lever? I presume I'll need a total of four olives? Do they generally come in a kit or will I need to purchase these on top? Would this affect the seal performance as the cable already looks a little pre-crushed in your video where the olive used to be? Thanks!

FreetoCycle....My rear ultegra R8070 pad bolt has seized and its that brittle it has splittered away where the screw driver should go.Have you any tips on how to get this bolt out.Thanks.

Help! Have a 160mm rotor. The Calliper bracket mount says “for 140 or 160” on one side and for “160 or 180” on the other side. Which side can I use for my 160mm rotor?…Tks

I asked shimano if these were compatible with the R8070 levers and they told me no! Is there any change to the lever throw?

Why did you replace them? What is the benefit of the 8170? I ask because I just cracked my rear caliper while fighting to get the bolt out to change the pads. So its a new caliper I need.

8:08" so far and this seems kind of insane where you need a 'Dremel' and to replace an olive which 'of course' you can get at the drop of a hat at your local bike shop. Don't forget to clean up all that fluid and your bucket, etc.. Rim brakes for the win, even though, I guess thanks to biz & marketing, they'll likely lose.
